    Hi there
On contacting Cap 1 Im sure they will say Wescot are collecting they wont have a clue about anything else and definitely complain to ICO as Chippy said
Cap 1 are very good at claiming allsorts of Twaddle and dont forget its in dispute technically until your SAR turns up so maybe a letter to the so called solicitor stating the dispute with the OC would get them off your back and send a letter to Cap 1 giving them 7 days to comply with your SAR request then ask the ICO to look into it
    Good Luck
  • thanks a lot again guys

if they dont comply yet again i will write the relevant letters

some help with a template would be nice

    thanks again
  • shock horror still no word from c one

another letter from westcot today asking me why i am not making any effort to pay of balance (why i have a letter saying they are happy with my monthly payments i have no idea then)

also the usual threats about a doorstep visit is immiment e.t.c

how these "companies" (loose term) get away with this is beyond me these sort of letters make me feel sick to the stomach
  • Hi again
No news is good news or no surprise there then
  • Hi inamess man.
I have just started to receive calls from cougar financial services and received a letter today. Dont let them get to you.
You need to ring the financial ombudsman there number is 0800 023 4567 the will do a complaint on your behalf and also you should go and speak to the citizens advise bureau, they have really helped me and i now realise i don't need to fear these companies and there threats.
    I hope this helps.
  • thanks martin and good luck to you to

finally received my sar from capital one a few weeks back

today received a letter from there complaints dept accepting that twice my signature matched and they sent a letter saying it didnt, they have offered a pultry (imo) sum of £25 which has been credited to my capital one account

the letter states the complaint is now closed and my only option is the ombudsman?

think its worth my while? surely by accepting they have made various errors over the last year they should compensate a bit more than £25!

    thanks again
  • if anyone could help draft a letter to the ombudsman id be most grateful
