    Thanks

How much do you have that you could offer a F&F?

I have no knowledge of this company but it wouldn't do any harm to offer a F&F.

To get a 40% you would need to pay £720.

However as others have said they can't have what you don't have so if you don't have enough for F&F there are other ways to deal with this.

You would be looking for approx 66% reduction.

There are threads on here as well as sample letters but I am unsure on how to add them as a link.. Best thing to do would be to put F&F in the search function.

You may be better keeping the £400 you have incase of emergency and just work on stopping the calls and getting them to accept your payments. I know it's easier said than done but DCA will try all sorts to get you to pay however there are rules and regulations they have to stick to and they just need reminded of these at times.

sorry to ask again received the following letter this morning

    "dear sir/madam

    regarding capital one
    balance £1128.63

we have been instructed by c one to contact you regarding the above unpaid account. as specialist debt collectors we have been asked to recvoer all outstanding arrears owing. Your payment made payable to cougar should be made within 7 days from the date of this letter.

continued non payment could result in more direct methods of recovery :

    A DOORSTEP COLLECTOR

    A COUNTY COURT CLAIM

    "

Ok i want to write back have tried searching here for sample letters, can anybody suggest a how i would lay out a full and final letter and what sort of amount i should offer to start with?

Also which letter should i write to stop them ringing me

F&F offers and info on this link - http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/factsheet.php?page=24_full_and_final_settlement_offers

as to how much to offer - I would just say start low. Never heard of cougar but why not try starting at 25% of the balance (so 75% off), they may say no and you may need to negotiate but no point starting too high.

Okay I know it's hard to stay calm when you get letter like this BUT are you sure you want to try the F&F route?

This DCA are trying to put pressure on you. Have you read the OFT guidlines for DCA? If not please do so?

Let me have a look about for letters and see if I can figure out how to do a link for it.
