It is quite a complicated procedure to do it yourself and you will need a few things (which are not easy to get). I would find a store near you who can do it for you. Or just find a xbox dvd kit with remote.(Which you will probably want anyway, unless you like using the controller for dvds)

As Danasaur has already mentioned, it is a complicated procedure to softmod the xbox if you're not really into computers and things like that. Just incase you are then the link below describes how to do it.

Do you have to open the xbox up when you use the DVD kit or does it just connect to the outside of the console?

No need to open the box for the playback kit.

You put one part (reads the infare signal) into the controller port and use the remote as you would any other remote.

if anybody is wanting the splinter cell game and action replay il send them out to you for £15, this is what i payed for them of a seller on amazon. ive succesfully soft modded mine so i dont need them anymore

il also leave the splinter cell soft mod file on the memory card so you dont have to search the net for ages like i had to do to find it

Just had a look on ebay and there are loads of these kits so I shall check out the buyers now that I know I don't need to do anything technical!
