The bit I don't get is how do you transfer Spectrum games to your hard drive from the cassette?
Dowload the game files from internet then either FTP them to the Xbox or burn them to a CD/DVD and transfer them. Xbox has to be in a modified state to allow this.0 -

You don't transfer them your self (well, you can but it is easier to just goto http://www.worldofspectrum.org/ and download them - they are tiny and will only take seconds to download).
To mod the xbox all you need is a memory card, a copy of splinter cell (a xbox game) and an xploder - all of which are available for less than £10 total, and there is plenty of discussion about it earlier in this thread.ॐ Signature Removed by Someones Mum. ॐ0 -

Doh!
Thanks everyone for your advice.
Thought I had to drag stuff out of the loft and connect them to it!
Typical woman eh! Haven't got a clue about this lot but I can multi task the housework!
Shall have a search for info. Hubby off to our local Argos to pick one up.

I reserved one in Liverpool (St Johns?) even though I'm in Newcastle,(the games are in stock here but not the consoles),I just wanted to see two green ticks in the boxes. I know, I know.
If someone can make use of the Liverpool reservation please pm me, it's on hold until the end of business on Thu 28th.0 -
Just switched it on and put in a DVD to test and comes up with you need a xbox DVD movie playback kit!
I thought like the PS2 you could just put a DVD in and play it, is that not the case with the xbox then?
Are these expensive?0 -
Thanks to both of you.
Burton is easier for me to get to on the train so we are going to take a trip there tomorrow. It is way better than Derby for shopping generally anyway~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
