Thanks for that. Do you just call them and ask for 6 months internet?

Any idea how much calls cost if you don't top up £10 a month? It would be for the OH who doesn't make many calls.
  • does anyone know if you can use the free internet from the sim in a dongle to use it as mobile internet on your laptop?
not sure if that comes under using the mobile as a modem?

Have read trhough all the posts and my understanding is that you can buy this phone for £19.99, pay £10 top up then nothing else.

This would get my daughters 6 mths free internet, 100 mins free calls following months of activation then after that, no calls but the facility to use Android market and its downloaded games, apps etc through wifi (without even having to use free internet allowance)???

    Am I understanding this right?

They keep wanting to play my Hero and running the batteries down playing the games downloaded through the market! Worth £15 for each even without anything else on it! Oh to get full use of my phone.
If only I could stop finding good bargains on this site, I would save a fortune! :rotfl:

Well that is the way I see it, it is worth it for the free game and music downloads for my 12 year old, she loves it.

You don't even have to have a sim card in it to download the apps/games etc through WiFi.

Was that a reply to my questions?
I want to know if the phone is worth £40. You get 6 months internet (which is probably worth it because they don't charge if you use too much). But because I get free internet anyway, is the phone worth it?
And can the phone be used as a modem?

To be honest MilkyJoe, in a word-NO. I ordered this little Android, it arrived - the SD card was faulty. Additionally, as the screen is SO small, for a bloke to use it, will almost CERTAINLY need to use the stylus to type. I have small hands but still found it finniky.

I've sent it back for full refund. NOT wanting to sound racist, the girls I seem to be connected to when I phone TM all seem to be oriental with American accents and don't seem **that good** at English! I was on the phone 43 MINUTES this morning, the girl asked me over, and over and OVER again the same questions and wouldn't connect me to the returns dept (I had a query) yet when I eventually (after another 3 calls) was connected to 'returns' the chap told me all I needed to know within 2 minutes....

By it at your peril, I've since upgraded in the local TM store to a monthly tariff Samsung Galaxy ACE. Wonderful phone and excellent tariff.

    Good luck,

    Ange

Their call centre is in the Phillipines, according to the lovely, friendly lady who took my call. I didn't have a problem with understanding them. On one of my calls the lady asked me if I was being charged for the call and when I said yes she called me back so that it was free. Good service in my experience at least.

NO, JustaNewbie, you've not read this correctly- I didn't have a problem understanding her at all - it was SHE that couldn't grasp the gist of the conversation!

Yes, they are in the Manila, the cs I spoke to asked about the weather and I asked where she was ringing from to query theirs.

Hi I bought the tmobile pulse (not mini) in Sept and got 6 months free internet. I can confirm this is reguardless of top ups etc. After 6 months I had heard you could send a text to get another 6 months for £5. However in the last few days of my 6 months they sent me a text to offer a further 6 months for free. Therefor I have free internet until Sept. I am only a light user and only top up £5 once a blue moon. HTH someone, by the way I find the staff at orange way more pleasant than tmobile. They are great. x
