Has anyone used this online company?
The have .co.uk on their address but when I ordered Profender cat worming spot on from them, they guaranteed that the items were UK products and without prescription.
When the item arrived it had a customs sticker on it and revealed that it came from Barbados and originated in South Africa.
I emailoed them and told them and all they said was thanks for emailing.
I am told this is illegal importing of petmeds and the recipient is liable for prosecution if discovered.

Profender is definitely vet issued only.

Any company offering products like this should be avoided...thanks for the warning.

Ordered Frontline from this company which never arrived. Their phone number is out of service, and received an automated e-mail from them saying problems with their e-mail server.
Avoid!

Hi All, first time post on Money Saving Expert, but this is right up my street.

I'm from a leading UK online pet pharmacy (won't name which one) - I was informed about discountpetcare.co.uk today when one of our customers told me that she was able to purchase Frontline Combo from them without a prescription (Frontline Combo is a prescription-only medication). A week later she received some counterfeit Frontline from Barbados! discountpetcare is clearly a scam, they don't have a working phone or fax number (they insist on only being emailed) and their "office" is nothing more than a mail redirection service in London.

I would just like to clarify a few things:

First of all, it is a criminal offence to purchase animal medication from abroad,
Secondly, it's also an offence to purchase prescription-only medication without a prescription,
Thirdly, animal medicines may only be supplied from premises that are registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) - this ensures that the medication is stored in the correct manner and is safe to use on our animals.

People buying medication from discountpetcare have no idea if the medication is genuine or not, or whether it's been incorrectly stored.

I have spoken with the VMD today and they are aware of discountpetcare and are working to get this company shut down. I have also been in touch with goDaddy.com, the hosting company for discountpetcare and informed them. They assure me that discountpetcare will be removed in a few days.

I just placed an order for advocate and advantage cat flea products and Drontal (as I have ordered this elsewhere before without prescription), and googled the site after placing the transaction because the verified by visa clicksafe thing didn't come up when I confirmed it which worried me, it just said order complete...

Can anyone offer me any advice?? I have called the bank and cancelled the card although they've already taken the money so they cant actually stop it going through, and have emailed the company requesting it be cancelled immediately and a refund be issued, but have heard nothing back.

Really worried now as it came to £50 which I cant afford to lose, and stupidly thought a website guaranteeing UK products would be that, feel completely stupid, and only now looking up the products online have I seen the advocate needs a prescription, which they've not asked for so I'm sure if I get anything from them it will be fake and I wont be putting it on my cats.

If anyone has some advice I'd be very grateful, I don't really know what to do...

I placed an order only yesterday!Ordered £34 worth of flea/worm treatment for my 3 cats - now I am concerned that these items are not going to arrive & I've wasted my money.

I placed an order without knowing this website was dodgy - the order DID arrive a week and a half later and did have a customs sticker on envelope and foreign stamp markings!The products are the same as I have got (now!) from my Vet.But I won't use this site again - I am lucky that I received my order.

Not really - they may LOOK the same like the ones you got from your vet - you do not KNOW what is inside them, how were they stored (may be off despite best before date being ok - storing medication incorectly can damage them) so it may not be that lucky actually - those can make your pets sick.

I always goodle before ordering from anywhere...very dangerous not to - especially with meds.

it tells you who's it is and if you google the address (google maps) it's residential rather than business
