Not a great weekend
Had a stinking cold since friday and feel YUCK!!! Also means I can't exercise and do not feel happy about that either.
All I want to do is go for a run but know it is not the best thing to do when you are unwell. So I am looking for a big gain this week as have been sympathy eating
Also have not been able to try the test on insanity as I didn't think it would be good to try when you are feeling pants
Had a homemade super hot curry tonight for tea in hope to sweat it out, but after what Eric just said I hope it might burn off some of the calories I ate for lunch
Keep up the good work everyoneRestarting C25K in 2014 - Week 8 - 1/3 completed
Need to loose 25lb / 3lb lost so far0 -
Can I join up too? I've been lurking for a while, but decided maybe it's time I stuck my neck on the line. I've got 2 big challenges - save up a deposit for a house, and lose weight.
I've got a shocking amount of weight to lose, a few months back I (finally!) gave up smoking and added 3 extra stone to my already overweight-ness.
I'm not good at following a strict diet or calorie counting so I'm hoping that generally cutting back my portion sizes and junk food will work provided I start doing a decent amount of exercise.
So I better fess up right off the bat - my starting weight is 18st3I have a target loss of [STRIKE]146lbs[/STRIKE] 118lbs () over 18 months and have started today with 1hr on the wii.
(P.S. As far as house deposit goes, I hope to save up 20k over the next 18 months)Do you not know that a man is not dead while his name is still spoken?

Hey everyone,
Just caught up with the thread. My heart rate monitor came today so I've been playing with it whenever I've had the chance, burnt 467 cals throughout the day - used it doing anything and everything! Found that my bike cal counter (got it working!) is so far out it's ridiculous, and that two of my wii games are pretty accurate.
Loving it so far, and will do just as much, if not more, tomorrow.
Day 1 of the diet went well. I've been a bit peckish tonight but am still within my target - I'm now back to calorie counting. I'm still not eating too many carbs, and making sure that most of the ones I do eat are low GI, but I find a low carb diet really hard to follow when I'm short of time (as I always tend to be!), so I slip up and then the whole diet ends up going out of the window.
I love calorie counting as you can eat anything you want, within reason, and within target. So am hoping that by doing this, plus only eating 'good carbs' that I will get the best of both worlds.
Anyway, I really should get some sleep - I've been averaging 6 and a half hours a night, and that is interrupted at least twice, which is really not good. I'm an 8 hours a night kind of girl, so am feeling really drained at the mo - which doesn't help matters!0 -

Welcome to the thread :j
Congratulations on giving up smoking, it's a very difficult thing to do!!!
I've done it three times, but have never lasted more than a few weeks - I just lack the willpower, and actually quite enjoy smoking.
146 lbs seems a lot to lose from 18st 3 - how tall are you?0 -

Welcome
Its a difficult thing to face having to loose so much weight, but trust me it is possible and having a realistic time frame will help
I never looked back, forget about bad days and things in the past, focus on what you can do today to help yourself
I also found breaking the weight loss down into manageable targets helped, climbing Everest starts with a single step forward, just focus on each step, not the whole thing.
I would seriously recommend you consider a reduced carb low GI type diet, I have lost 225lbs in 17 months doing this and I am not the only one, there have been some monumental losses over on the low carb forums

I pretended I was on my own reality show - At Home with Matryoshka :rotfl:and the nation was watching me working out. Wasn't sure about taking my top off though as didn't want to flaunt my mummy-tummy but anyway, I kept on talking to the 'camera' saying how tired I was but how exercise kept me fit and kept on flexing my muscles to show y'all. And anyway, everyone is talking about my show - At Home with Matryoshka
