  • Just a quick update to say I am still here and still MS (mostly) Big news is that PH and I have finally got engaged. We have been together 9 years in March so I have been waiting a while!

Been crazy wedding planning, which is made so much harder by our restricted budget. I have finally booked the church and reception at our local community centre for 12 May 2012. Almost every other venue was out of our price range, and with a big family on both sides we need all the money we can for the food!

welcome back and congratulations with your engagement. Have a look on the marriage threads on here as i know when i was planning my wedding there were a lovely group of people all doing the same and we tried to help each other out where possible.

glad you've found the threads they're so helpful, and i certainly needed them at times when i needed to vent frustrations with family and friends.
  • Oh dear...has it been that long?

I knew I had been burying my head in the sand but seriously can't believe how much time has passed. I don't think the debt has increased massively since September but it definitely hasn't gone down.

The good news is that I am now working full time and we have just started to receive our early years funding for DD which helps a lot. On the flip side we still have a wedding and honeymoon to pay for.

Technically our disposable income is £1000 per month and I just don't understand how we can be frittering this sort of amount away. We have agreed to keep our receipts for the next couple of weeks to work it out x
