    Ha Lemontree, I either power through the whole list or studiously ignore it altogether!

    Today has been Fed kids, scrubbed kitchen floor (did it 3 times on my hands and knees as dog peed last night and I could still smell it) , put washing on/out to dry, Rhymetime, stay and play, coffee shop, park, made hair for scarecrow, went on an aborted walk with the dog (dd refused to go any further!) Now everybody seems really tired...

    I must do the following:

    Make tomato soup
    Make bread
    Tidy up spare room for guests
    Iron and hang up more clothes to sell
    Walk dog again properly tonight

    Dinner is salad and quiche for me and pork chops and veg for OH

    But for now I will have a little rest I think!

    Another row last night. This time because he wants to be able to go out on the p*ss with me because and I quote... "you like walks and stuff and I have agreed to that so I like getting pi**ed so you should join me". I would like a night off, with someone responsible looking after DD so that we can have a nice meal and yes, probably a few drinks in town but I don't go out planning to get plastered! It was worse because this was in-front of our friends and I got embarassed when he started going on about his "enforced budget"

    It ended with me in tears and going to bed. He came to apologise for upsetting me but when he went I ended up in tears again.

    I can't shake this niggling thought at the back of my mind that he has a reliance on alcohol which is not healthy. Most of his leisure activities now involve drinking. When he agreed to play more golf / go walking with me I was pleased because I thought it might take the emphasis away from alcohol, but instead he tried to use that as a bargaining chip for more drinking!

    Anyway, plans for today are:

    Move the 12 stone man from my sofa at some point. He obviously fell asleep here and now won't move (not my OH, his mate)
    Make super fry up for everybody
    Bread already in BM
    Take dog for a walk
    Finish off scarecrow.
    Price up outfits for sale
    Dig out the pasting table from garage
    Dinner is shepherds pie probably
    Lunch is tomato soup made yesterday

    Skipped lunch. DD ate most of OH's fry up so wasn't hungry. Me and DD had spinach tortellini with tomato sauce and peas. OH had pork chops that he skipped the day before.

    He has been helpful-ish today and pleasant but no mention of last night and I am still seething a little tbh. I could bring it up but I can't face it so will just wait for my anger to subside and move on.

    By Helpful-ish I mean he cooked the fry up, I tidied up (including the mess from last night) he came out for a walk this afternoon but before and since he has barely left the sofa and is now watching F1 qualifying instead of sorting out my scarecrow like he promised.

    Will remind him then b**ger off to Asda to catch the reduced counter and have a little browse and a change of scene.

    I have £15 left after taking out swimming for DD tomorrow. This needs to last til Tuesday night. Think I only need milk really though. Have turned down pub tea invite from our parent friends again which is probably some kind of record for us. Was easier tho as OH didn't want to go as the race is on at 5pm:mad:

    Tomorrow is the tomato soup from today and roast gammon for tea. Need to make some brown bread to go with the soup.

    Was bored yesterday evening and have to keep myself occupied since I gave up smoking so I did a tour of 3 supermarkets on the hunt for bargains!

    I am so lucky as OH gets all his fuel paid for and has a company car so I can do this without worrying about petrol costs! Went to Sainsburys, Asda and Tesco. Got a couple of quiches for 30p each. Tub of fresh carbonara sauce 30p, baby leeks 10p, sub rolls 36p, oat loaf 10p, 2x packs cakes 10p. Plus basics of dishwasher tablets, dzn eggs and milk.

    My findings are:

    Sainsburys 8/10 - Good quality stuff on reduced counter and but reductions only to 30p or so.
    Asda 7/10 - Poor selection but prices reduced to 10p or 20p per item
    Tesco 5/10 - very poor selection and still hadn't done the final chilled stuff reduction at 8pm.

    I am wondering whether I could do a challenge where we just eat from the reduced counter. Maybe for a week at first and see how we go??

    Now I have about £11 left til Wednesday but having this tabletop sales this afternoon and owed £12 still by the bloke at work who bought my cd's. Also have £73 travel expenses being paid into bank next week.

    OH taking DD swimming this am, and his sister arriving later. I need to give her a lift to the station so she can catch a train to London. She is going to be on a new game show called Red or Black!

    sorry to hear your OH brought you to tears, hope you get time to talk things properly with him.

    Thanks Lemontree...think I was just going off one one a bit before.. 90% of the time things are fine. The other 10% he is absolutely impossible! He does drink more than I would like but probably not more than others do. It's just that I barely drink at all nowadays so find him doubly irritating when he is drunk!

    Weather has let me down so no tabletop sale. Still it's all ready to be listed on Ebay or car booted next week.

    Spent £5 on ingredients so OH could make his version of Tesco finest cookies (the ones from the bakery section) Now I can't stop eating them!

    Tea is roast gammon and I have formulated a plan to use the leftovers for a creamy leeky gammony gratin thing so that should be nice tomorrow!

    don't worry Vicky, it's good to air your thoughts and it's always better to do them with strangers because then you haven't got your OH coming back at you all the time.

    the cookies sound yummy, i've never been able to make them so that they resemble the ones bought from shops.

    Hi Lemontree.
    This is the recipe OH uses:

    Big, fat, chewy chocolate chip cookies -

    ingredients

    * 250g plain flour
    * 1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
    * 1/2 teaspoon salt
    * 170g unsalted butter, melted
    * 200g light brown soft sugar
    * 100g caster sugar
    * 1 tablespoon vanilla extract (we didn't have so left it out)
    * 1 egg
    * 1 egg yolk
    * 325g chocolate chips (we mix white and milk)

    preparation method

    1. Preheat the oven to 170 C / Gas mark 3. Grease baking trays or line with parchment.
    2. Sift together the flour, bicarb and salt; set aside.
    3. In a medium bowl, cream together the melted butter, brown sugar and caster sugar until well blended. Beat in the vanilla, egg and egg yolk until light and creamy. Mix in the sifted ingredients until just blended. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand using a wooden spoon. Drop cookie dough onto the prepared baking trays, we make each cookie ball about the size of a golf ball. Cookies should be well spaced as they will spread out! 4. Bake for 15 to 17 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the edges are lightly toasted. Cool on baking trays for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
