Putting it down on paper...and making a plan (arrrghh!!)

never feel ashamed of a bonus or that you've cheated. You've both worked hard for that bonus, yes you included, if you hadn't have been looking after the home and family then he wouldn't have been able to work so many hours
Glad your company is doing well in these times. It's not easy! You could say we're not for profit at my place but we're still undergoing lots of cuts. My section is down on the list but not for a while but it still feels like a knife over our heads.0 -
Thanks Lemontree. It has been a hard year for us. Work has encroached A LOT into our personal life. I have turned down a great job offer at one of our suppliers so I can continue to support OH. (He is my boss, I am sales, so what I sell affects company performance - there are only 3 sales people)
I do feel like we have earned it.
Had a small sneaky chinese last night - £11.90 but I REALLY wanted it! (doesn't make it any better!)
I am already over budget for this week but I think perhaps I was too unrealistic. The weather will be too bad for the car boot, so can't make money back that way. Instead i will spend some time listing on Ebay this evening.
Not sure what to do today to keep us busy. It's OH's lie-in this morning, and I won't get him out for a walk in the rain so perhaps the dreaded soft play??!! or as we like to call it ....Hellabaloo.Staring point of debt £23,343:mad:

hope you enjoyed the Hellabaloo lol
I've spent today helping OH to lay a new floor. I'm in charge of getting pieces of flooring ready to lay and marking the little extra bits, and moving furniture around and making food and drinks. I hurt in every boney in my body! even my ears ache!
all i can say is thank got for my slow cooker. I put a beef stew in this morning and it was lovely. If i hadn't have done that we would have ended up eating out despite the fact that neither of us could move that far.0 -
Not a good moneysaving weekend really. Spent too much on groceries and skipped soft play for a more hellish experience - IKEA! We are now £230 lighter (goodbye credit card overpayment) and have a remodelled living room which has gained us about 3 square feet of floor space in our living room. It actually makes quite a big difference in quite a small living room. We don't have any other living space so every square inch counts!
This week will have to be a serious NSD week. I can manage this on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I am sure.
On the plus side our house is getting really organised and we are de-cluttering at a rapid rate which makes me feel so much better generally. I am sure it affected my mental health in the past.
Some medium term goals:
Ebay stuff
Car boot next weekend if the weather is good
Make cushions for sofa??
Garage organised - skip hired!
Spare bedroom de-cluttered and organised
Tiles re-grouted in places and cleaned up
Front garden weeded and tidied
Back garden weeded and tidied
That'll do for now!Staring point of debt £23,343:mad:

sounds like you're doing well. We're working hard on our living room, but it's the bedroom which needs gutting, but that could take a year or so.0

I am going to studiously ugnore the list I tyoped above as we are not making progress on any of this stuff and this weekend is not likely to be productive either!
On the plus side it's pay day tomorrow and our bonus will be in there! Settlement figure for loan is all sorted so just need to make that payment tomorrow!! woo hoo!!Staring point of debt £23,343:mad:

Morning!
The car loan is clear, as is the TV loan - woohoo so that's our debt reduced £12245 which is great!
I have applied for a new 0% card and so has OH in anticipation of ending promo rates in August and October! He will defo get his, but I might not as working PT etc so income not what it was.
Have setup a SO to MBNA to clear my balance in 3 months at £170 per month which actually gets mine clear before the 0% deal expires. First payment has gone on this now.
OH to ring sky and threaten to leave in order to get our package reduced.
Lovely day at the Zoo in the sunshine yesterday, and was 2 for 1 entry, DD FOC and we took a picnic. With odds and ends and parking we spent £40 all in!
As for the dreaded list. Well not much progress (just extended really), but we did clean the carpets on saturday which is a job we have been avoiding for a while.

We have been doing well at avoiding the dreaded list. We did cross the back garden off which is good news!
Got turf FOC on freecycle which was great!
Not much on the debt busting front, as need to wait until the end of the month now really. It doesn't help that I am doing Atkins now which is super expensive.Staring point of debt £23,343:mad:

glad the bonus was put to good use.
I've not been on here so much as i'm crackered after all the hours i've been doing at work, wish i got paid overtime but the best i can hope for is to not lose the hours in flexi time at the change of a month.0
