anyone tried that clutch-glue?.... You chuck it in the flywheel inspection hole... Rev the crackers off it for 2-3 mins and it restores clutch plate friction?.... Belting stuff:d

Clutch Glue is fantastic.....best product I've ever used.
Do you guys use the 48A (blue tube) or the 60A (redtube)? Mate of mine swears there's a premium 80D in a pink tube but I've never seen it? Supposed to last three times as long.0 -
You are just clutching at straws now..0

too many people on this thread think they know it all like fact. The problem/cause is all speculation.
anyway, was driving today and i could smell burning and then car would not move, well, snails pace with almost full revometer accelerator pushed down. Called AA, he opened bonnet, said its clutch (just by smelling the air). Clutch Worn he said. Towed me to garage.
He said AA might pay for it depending on whether its mechanical failure or not. No way of knowing till garage open it up and remove gear box or something (garage said same). If i took this route and AA refused to pay, i would have to pay £300+ for whole job or £150 for diagnosis and then could take elsewhere for cheaper deal. I just went with cheapest option £130 in total for fixing it all, and garage will inform AA and ask them if they are paying for it. Either way, it sounds like a good deal: whether AA pay for it or not. If they do pay, then i could have taken to an expensive garage and did a proper job with better parts, but thats in hindsight. Id rather get it done in one go and get on with my life.
£130 deal, think its a re-conditioned clutch/parts. Not brand spanking new like the £300-£600 quotes. Dont even think the car is worth £500, to be spending that much. Insurance/MOT/Service/Breakdown cover/handful of breakdowns per year = Much more ££ spent compared to value of car. Thinking of going back to walking/public transport and cycling, for health reasons and money saving.
thanks to all, ill post again if there are any further developments/issues.0 -
Guys, I think my car is running out of petrol. The fuel guage is really low too.Should I fill up or ring the AA so they can diagnose the problem?Should I keep driving it until I run out of petrol and then call them? Can I claim for a new tank on my cover?0
