no, i expect/hope AA will come and find the exact fault and deal with it, if they take me to garage, then there is a chance they will pay for it.
all im asking is will AA come to me even though i have not broken down?
if i am to be covered for parts and labour, i dont want them saying "oh well you didnt brake down, we advised you to do such and such".
if i just go to garage, with no AA involvement, then im not even using them, i want to use them, seeing i paid them huge amount for cover.
So call AA now? or wait till car breaks down?0 -

Ahh well if the garage say they do then they do;) Good luck.
Anyone tried that Clutch-Glue?.... You chuck it in the flywheel inspection hole... Rev the crackers off it for 2-3 mins and it restores clutch plate friction?.... Belting stuff:D
I need that stuff!!!! would save me hours of work! lol0 -

From the T&C :-
4 Clutch. All parts are covered other than worn-out friction surfaces.
As the OP has been advised that the clutch was on it's way out and has not bothered to have it done, if it is slipping as badly as he states then the fricton plates are nearly completely worn out, it would seem he is not covered by the repair cover.0 -

Why not try this ...
Take the car out tomorrow morning and find the biggest steepest hill in your neighbourhood. Get stuck half way up and call out the AA.
They will then give you a tow to the garage (assuming they can't fix the clutch by the roadside). You can then claim on the policy.
Let us know how you get on. If the cover pays for genuine wear and tear like clutch plates then I might think about taking out the cover myself. But I have a sneaking feeling that it won't.

Temporary to get you home maybe but as a replacement for a new clutch no the car needs a new clutch which is WEAR AND TEAR and thus exempt from AA breakdown cover as others have said get it to a garage for replacement and pay0 -

Why won't you listen.....it makes no difference if you or the AA take your car to the garage....you are NOT COVERED for the repairs. If you want to feel like you're getting something for your money by getting a tow then feel free to phone them.0 -
thanks all.
i would rather AA told me exactly what needs doing, rather than be conned by a garage.
I def want the AA involved.
1)so i dont get ripped off
2) put my cover policy to use (nothing to lose).0
