I use quidco and know there are lots of cashback deals for contracts and I am happy to go with a contract but only can really pay up to £20 per month.

Would really welcome some advice as to which would be a good phone and if there is any chance at all I could afford an i-phone with cashback.

I have been through the threads but I find it all mindblowing as I am not techy at all xx

very very many thanks in anticipation

I think some you are being a bit harsh on the OP.
She has stated that she would like an iphone but does admit she
cannot afford, she has set budget of £20 and would like advice
of what she could get for that.

My advice is that there is no way you could ever get an iphone
    for your budget.

    But there are very good alternatives;

    1) Buy the OSF (Orange San Francisco), unlock it for free and
install better software * Cheapest option but requires a tiny
bit of techy knowledge * If you got a friend who is good with
    tech then could help you?

    2) My recommendation for a no fuss mobile would be the HTC
    Wildfire, theres are deal i saw at www. mobiles. co.uk on t-mobile for;

    HTC Wildfire (free)
    300 mins
    300 texts
    500mb (internet)
    24 months
    £15

    So after 24 months you would have spent in total;
£360 (phone costs approx £180 so you are paying £180 for
the price plan which over 24 months equates to)

£7.50 per month for the price plan

I'm in a similar boat to the OP and I came across this deal for an HTC Desire courtesy of mobiles.co.uk.
    http://!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!/htc-desire.html#MobilePhoneTariffs
Click best deal (with Orange). For 24-months, through redemption, you get 10 months free, the remaining 14 months (24-month deal) are 25.54/month. Going through TCB who offer 40 for a new contract purchase, you get:
300 mins Any Network Anytime +
    Unlimited Texts +
    500MB Data
    and your HTC Desire FREE
with cashback, it effectively costs 317.56 = 13.23/month.

Yes, it relies on cashback tracking and to be on time for each redemption stage, but it's a reasonable contract and a very good phone.

There are other great deals to be had with buymobilephones.co.uk. My fiancee just bought the new Experia Arc on pre-order with 500 minutes, 600 txt and UL Internet on an 18-month contract for effectively 21.99 (18 month contract). The phone was free. With TCB, it worked out to be something like 370 all in effectively. Considering the phone is priced at 470 new, it was an amazing deal. :money:She's very much looking forward to its arrival in early April.
I couldn't find her specific contract but here's something similar:
    http://www.buymobilephones.net/mobile-phones/Sony-Ericsson/Sony-Ericsson-XPERIA-Arc/T-Mobile/T-Mobile-30-%2818mths%29-inc.-Internet/8852740
Going through TCB who offer 30 for a new contract purchase, it effectively costs 451.50 in its entirety or 25.08/month (18 month contract).

Hope I've been of help and good luck with whatever you decide. ;)

    Hi,
I got a Samsung Galaxy Apollo GT-I5800 on Orange PAYG a few months back, from Carphone Warehouse. Spent a week trying to get it unlocked
only to find on these forums it "should" already be unlocked if it was from CPW, it was:odoh!!
Now my girlfriend's son wants one, so have promised him one on my next trip back to England, (living in Hamburg).
The £79.95 + £10 top up has now gone up to £109.95. But the same model on "3" is at the lower price. Would I be right in thinking this
model from "3" is also unlocked!
Any other recommendations for a cheap unlocked Android greatly received too!!!
    Danke
    H;)

    You'd be wrong.

Search the Board for Orange San Francisco (OSF). About £100+topup from Orange. Easy to unlock for free.

Thanks for that. How about Vodafone, is that one unlocked. See yours and other's recommendations for the San Fran, but he's got his mind set
on this Samsung Apollo of mine!!

    OSF is better than Apollo.
All the phones sold by networks normally are locked, especially the branded ones.
Only some dealers, like CPW, sell unlocked phones.

    I've been Money Tipped!
e2save have the Galaxy phone from £69.90 (cheapest network) + top-up.

Cashback from say Topcashback should nearly pay for the top-up.

You'd be wrong I'm afraid, it's unlocked. ;) (Should clarify this, the Apollo is unlocked.)
Have I helped? Feel free to click the 'Thanks' button. I like to feel useful (and smug). ;)

You should have clarified that you meant Apollo, not OSF that is definitely locked.
Well, it's hard to believe, but I don't see any reasons for not believing you.
AFAIK only O2 are known to sell unlocked handsets.
