    What he said.

Get cheapest smartphone on cheapest network.

Fancy stuff is fine when you ain't broke. You don't want to get 2 months into a 24 month iPhone contract and get it nicked, circumstances have changed or find you can't afford it etc....

What they said!! If you really can't afford the upfront cost as you're broke, they have a cheap monthly contract for it. And it's a fantastic phone :T:)

Bear in mind you'll have to register the Orange sim, and then pay £20.42 for them to unlock it after 3 months have passed....

Nothing in this post is true. You can bin the Orange SIM and unlock it for free straight away.

Or as the man in the Orange shop suggested to me- sell it to your mum for a tenner!:rotfl:

I was mentioning the legit way of doing it ;)
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

iPhone's are over rated, novelty soon wears off same as any other phone, you'd be looking at a 24 month contract now i'd imagine, so as your "broke" could you really afford it over this term? the last think i'd be trying to get is a contract phone if i were "broke"

    Hi there

I currently have a crappy old slow PAYG phone and really want something trendy with a decent-ish camera and a facility to use the internet. I really like the i-phone but I know it's expensive. At the moment I am paying about £15 to top up.

I use quidco and know there are lots of cashback deals for contracts and I am happy to go with a contract but only can really pay up to £20 per month.

    Get a (better paid) job?

Seriously though, if I was broke, getting an i-phone would not be top of my to-do list.

Agreed. My priorities would be somewhere else. An iPhone should be waaaaaay down your list.

Some people!!! The OP is only asking if it's possible to get an iPhone with cashback for £20 a month!! Not job advice!
  • check out the Nokia N8 at tesco direct. |No handset cost, 750 mins, 5000 texts and 1gb of data for £20 a month. Only drawback is a 24 month contract, but seems a good deal to me.

Don't get this phone, if you have the option of getting the San Fran. I had the pulse-mini when it first came out and now have the San Fran. They are worlds apart! San Fran is of much higher spec and is worth the extra money for longevity.

I wouldn't just bin the Orange sim as you've got £10 credit on it. I would save it as a backup for Orange Wednesdays or just use the credits first.

San Fran and GiffGaff are a winning combination. Which is what I have for the budget conscience. :)

    Good luck.
