Broke but want a fancy phone! Advice welcomed

Hi there

I currently have a crappy old slow PAYG phone and really want something trendy with a decent-ish camera and a facility to use the internet. I really like the i-phone but I know it's expensive. At the moment I am paying about £15 to top up.

I use quidco and know there are lots of cashback deals for contracts and I am happy to go with a contract but only can really pay up to £20 per month.

Would really welcome some advice as to which would be a good phone and if there is any chance at all I could afford an i-phone with cashback.

I have been through the threads but I find it all mindblowing as I am not techy at all xx

very very many thanks in anticipation

Check out the Nokia E63-looks like a Blackberry -has a full keyboard internet etc. My contract is £20 a month on 3 with loads of minutes , unlimited texts and unlimited internet -probably not any more than you're currently paying for PAYG (don't forget to go through Quidco too)

    What he said.

Get cheapest smartphone on cheapest network.

Fancy stuff is fine when you ain't broke. You don't want to get 2 months into a 24 month iPhone contract and get it nicked, circumstances have changed or find you can't afford it etc....

Bear in mind you'll have to register the Orange sim, and then pay £20.42 for them to unlock it after 3 months have passed....
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

no you don't. There are plenty of guides to unlocking it yourself.
