You say your Mum gets £120.00 a month from your brother who only works part-time, yet you are moaning about paying £100 and you earn good money! Why should she be asking your brother to pay more?
You go and get your own place love ,I am sure you will be very happy shelling out for rent, food, heating, water, electricity and insurance, but I will tell you now, it will cost you an arm & a leg, but then again, it seems to me that you need the experience of 'going to alone in this very hard economic climate.
Good Luck to you lass, write and let us all know how you get on out of your comfort zone.
    You live..You learn.:)

Welcome to the real world, Sweetheart.

I suggest you do as other posters AND your friends have suggested and check out rent on a place of your own.
    Good luck with that.

This week there has been hardly any food in the house and this week she even asked me to buy chicken for dinner and milk - but I didnt as I knew she expected me to pay for it. I eat at work so if they want anything they can pay for it themsleves!! I'm not her Mum.
I bet she wishes she wasn't YOUR Mum.

What a nasty mean-spirited little madam you sound.
If you were my daughter I'd have you out of that room before you could draw another breath.

I told her I didnt believe that the bills were so high and demanded she give me copies. She said it was degrading to have to send me the bills and make a budget for my inspection but I think its because she is scamming me. She did send me it though.
So do tell us what your Mum's outgoings are.
Are they more than the £1200 she says it is?

Can you please give your opinion so I can show this to her to demonstrate how unfair she is being. I'm only 23 and trying to save up to move out but she wants me to go now as he cant afford to keep me. This makes me so angry as I'm hardly ever here!!!!!!!!!!! She is so mean.
I do hope you show people's opinions to your Mum, it might just wake her up to the fact that she's brought up an ungrateful little brat.

we had a lodger over the summer and we charged her £65 a week which is very cheap as she is a friend so we didn't really want to make profit out of her. She then had to buy all her own food which was possible around £20. so thats a minimum of £85 a week. When my husband was a lodger he had to pay £75 a week for room and bills and that was a 5 day let! good luck finding somewhere cheaper.

my mum is currently off work with severe back issues and I don't live there but i contribute where i can!!!!!

Good luck finding elsewhere for less than that! I live on my own and at the end of the month from my wages, i have £50 spare - and thats only because i really try hard to scrimp and save it.

I'm 20 years old and would never dream of speaking to my mother like that (in fact, if i did she wouldn't think anything of slapping me). You are a selfish little brat and you should have some manners.

I can't believe you're the same age as me. This has to be a wind up :rotfl: Most people grow out of this kind of behaviour in their teens... don't they?:rotfl:

Sorry that nobody agrees that your mum is nothing but a scamming scammer who just wants to scam her own daughter by trying to keep a roof over the heads of her family.

She shouldn't even need to be asking you to contribute towards the family home if you're earning money. I paid 'keep' to my family from 15 years old when I got a saturday job. I would sell everything I own to help my parents keep their homes and pay their bills if that's what it took. I certainly wouldn't be having a tantrum on the internet about being asked to contribute £100pw to the house I was living in because it meant I couldn't go out as often or had to spend a bit less on clothes:rotfl:

Looks like you're wrong, sweetie:D I'm sure you can go out tonight though and b!tch with your friends about what the nasty people on MSE said about you....:p

    Wow Wow and Wow

Three words come to mind - Selfish, Spoilt and Ignorant.

At the age of 17 I was paying £100 a month to my mum. I moved out at 19 and then back again at 21 and have been paying £315 which covers mortgage CT bills etc etc I buy our own food (me and DS). I'm now 26 and even though living with my mother isn't always ideal I will ALWAYS be grateful for her letting me live here and letting me pay a reasonable amount.

If I were to rent on my own I would need a 2 bed flat/house which where I live would cost anywhere between £750-£1000 a month RENT ALONE!! That doesn't include any bills!

Stop being such an ungrateful cow and help your mother out. She has every right to chuck you out and get a lodger who will be perfectly pleased with only paying £400 a month.

I'm sure you are a troll as I can't bear the thought that someone of 23 can be so stupid.
