Are you asking for Old Style christmas presents?

My request is pretty cheap and cheerful. Decent mixing bowls! I cook from scratch, but rarely get round to attempting much baking as I never seem to have the right tins/bowls etc. I did make a batch of scones last week due to being snowed in, so I’d like to give other things a go. But I only have 1 mixing bowl and it’s a bit small!! It was a Christmas present 2 years ago when I asked for the same thing ha ha.
My best mixing bowls have all come from the car boot sale - they are the type of thing that you find at most sales for a couple of quid each. I can't remember the make of mine (and can't be bothered to to and look as they are on top of the kitchen cupboard!) but they are the old fashioned style that are nice and heavy....Piglet

Think mine would be a card making kit with all the bits and pieces I'd need to make many varieties of cards. Not going to happen though as I could see it costing a small fortune, and I've never mentioned I'd like it, which would be a big help! There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0

I too would love hens, but not likely in our rented property unfortunately. Generally I make our bread by hand but my athritis is making this more & more difficult so a breadmaker may be an idea, & I would love to learn how to use a sewing machine, must be a book for that out there somewhere. One thing I do get every year which is much appreciated is posh bubble bath. My family are good about this & this year I made it through to November before having to use the cheap basics stuff the rest of the family use lol.
I bought a 2nd hand sewing machine off EBay and watched You Tube clips to learn how to sew... there are loads and im even getting quite good now:DNot terribly OS, and I know I won't get one as we don't have room, but I'd love a KitchenAid!
However, a more realistic wish is the River Cottage Everyday book, a new hand mixer (as mine is 25 years old & the plastic is so brittle it cracks when I look at it!) and an apple corer
What I will be getting is a new fridge freezer, to replace the one that is slowly dying as I type.
I too would LOVE a Kitchen Aid
My Top 3 are :
1) Hens - My parents have a farm so not an impossibility if DH ever changes his mind
2) A Kitchen Aid .... oohhhh what joy it would bring
3) A pantry .... I have a decent size kitchen with a 'special stores cupboard' but I would LOVE a little room like Nigella has with all my jams, chutneys, and bits and bobs ... could convince DH to build a mini extension :rotfl:Goal - We want to be mortgages free :j

I'm going to order it for my aunty for her pressie but I have a funny feeling that two copies may fall into my basket!!
I've asked for a burger press and one of those fat seperator jugs to help me make my home made healthy versions a bit more easily.
it was me
Thanks for that tip re Amazon <heads off to [STRIKE]buy it[/STRIKE] check it out> I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

'Sew' is available from The Book People for £4.99 at the moment. May be worth it if buying other books anyway (free delivery on orders of £25), though the postage for a single item is only £1.95. Hope this helps.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Not terribly OS, and I know I won't get one as we don't have room, but I'd love a KitchenAid!
I just got one in willow blue for my christmas present and cant wait to use it:T:T:T The OS bit is that i have just sent off for a free glass jug to go with it worth over 50 pounds :j:j:jI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

But the thing I would love most is a small holding with woodland attached, geothermal heating, solar panels, windmill power, a bore hole and reed bed so that I can be free of the overpriced utility companies
Oh me too, me too, and a multifuel stove that can heat hot water too! Sigh, a girl can dream can't she. In reality I'm getting a jam pan, the River Cottage preserves book and !!!!!! Strawbridge's book on Self Sufficiency. Although since reading this thread I now want a food slicer and a Kitchenaid (even though I'm not entirely certain what it is, off to google it..............) Oh my God, Oh my God, Oh my God!!!!!!! They are beautiful, think I need to start saving my Amazon vouchers from doing surveys for one of these beauties. I'm in love:pFirst they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.0 -
I've asked for 'Nose to Tail Eating: A Kind of British Cooking' from my husband. It's by Fergus Henderson and is full of recipes using offal. Can't wait to give some of the more unusual ones a go!0
