whoever mentioned teh Kath Kidson Sew! book.....just been having a google and found that it's available on Amazon for a couple of quid more (but free delivery) with material to make a bag included! I'm going to order it for my aunty for her pressie but I have a funny feeling that two copies may fall into my basket!!
I've asked for a burger press and one of those fat seperator jugs to help me make my home made healthy versions a bit more easily.0 -
Well, I am getting my heart's desire - a Kitchenaid Artisan machine. At least, I'd better be - I've been telling OH that it's what I want for at least 8 months.0

Ive asked for a really good slicing machine. Should be able to make food go a lot further if I can get nice thin even slices. I cook gammon joints instead of buying that awful plastic supermarket ham and thin slices would be really good!0

Check out Argos - I bought the Cookworks food slicer from there for half price about a month ago and it's fab. Makes a gammon joint for MrS's sandwiches last forever, and I do a whole load of cheese at once so I can fling sanwiches together in the time it takes the kettle to boil. A fab investment.0 -
Mine would be chickens, but with a baby on the way, DH has enough on his plate feeding three mouths, let alone six. So we're waiting to see how the bills pan out when I give up work. Ultimately I'd like a small holding too, but that's some way off yet...
What I've actually asked for is the River Cottage Everyday book and a jams and preserves book, (and some vouchers to pamper myself though that's not OS!). And a Good Housekeeping magazine.Life is what you make it. Always has been, always will be

My request is pretty cheap and cheerful. Decent mixing bowls! I cook from scratch, but rarely get round to attempting much baking as I never seem to have the right tins/bowls etc. I did make a batch of scones last week due to being snowed in, so I’d like to give other things a go. But I only have 1 mixing bowl and it’s a bit small!! It was a Christmas present 2 years ago when I asked for the same thing ha ha.0

Which slicer are you going for? DH and I would like one, but want a sturdy one that will last
I'm also hoping for an ice cream attachment for my Kenwood, a crochet book and the latest River cottage book :T
I'll add thsi to the existing thread later, so give you all more ideas

I have a 3 christmas wishes but i know i wont get any of them as our budget is £10 on each others presents (lol):
1) I would love chickens , (my DH is rubbish at diy so my only hope would be one of the posh hen houses that cost nearly £400)
2) A bigger garden so i don't have to walk to my allotment to pick things for tea and things wouldn't get vandlised like they do now at the allotment
3) My lovely DD's would stop argueing over silly things (they are 11 and nearly 13 years and i know it's just a phase they are going through, but it does sometimes get me down). I am very proud of them though, they are lovely girls in everyother way so i know to think myself lucky if this is the only thing
.....but as i said, there is not much chance of any of the above 3 things so i will carry on dreaming lol0 -

Ive been looking at an electric one and like the look of the Andrew James machines (have a good offer on Am***n ) They are a bit pricey but its all Ive asked for, the reviews are excellent ( good for bread as well as meats etc) and it will hopefully last a long time. Ive had a cheap one in the past and though they start out fine they dont seem to perform as well after a while.
I will post a review after Xmas if santa obliges;)

I was supposed to be getting my walls (in one room of my choice) skimmed so that I didnt need to have wallpaper anymore (except maybe on a feature wall) but as I've done nothing about it my parents have now offered to either do this as agreed OR pay off the balance of my holiday (I've paid most of it myself but there is approx £180 still to be paid) so I'm now thinking this would be a great idea. We arent big on pressies here (although we do buy for DS) so its normally something practical that they get/do for me but I find this more of a help than anything else
