Yep, who is the letter from? If it's Roxburghe then the 'solicitor' will be the next desk along at Roxburghe call centre, using 'Graham White' headed notepaper instead.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

jay_bs37 - have you got any more letters? I got a ticket last night for parking on the pavement outside Teso at Bradley Stoke.
I was stupid enough to e-mail them, so now they have my e-mail address ( nothing a quick "delete all messages from" rule won't fix... ) and point out the only sign alerting me that I was in a parking restriction controlled area was unlit and far too small to read while riding. I don't know the area and I've never been there before.
I'm a terrible conformist and am ready to crumble and pay up. How long do I need to keep filing the letters for? how long does it take for them to give up?0 -
Spend a while reading this forum, cango. You will soon realise that the one and only reason these companies issue their FAKE tickets is to CON the gullible into boosting their profits. There is NO legal basis for the "fines", they are just invitations to pay money which you don't owe.
You will also read that the simple advice ALWAYS given is to totally ignore EVERYTHING they send you. Their stock-in-trade is trying to frighten you into paying. That is because, since there is NO legal basis for their demand, they CANNOT enforce it in court; hence bullying is the only recourse they have.
A lot of people come on here, are given the "ignore" advice, it succeeeds, we don't hear from them again as they forget about it. Don't you think if they did have a problem they would come back seeking more advice?
If you want a personal testimonial, I have seen off over 80 of these FAKE tickets between my own and those of friends. Amount paid out ZERO, number of cases taken further by the companies ZERO.
How long they will take before they give up varies from one company to the next; and by taking them seriously you have marked yourself as a mug so you may get more letters; but no damage done if from here on in you ignore each and every piece of post or e mail sent to you.
They WILL go away, the only question is how long it takes. Allow for half a dozen letters, usually.
Come back with your success story when you've heard nothing for six weeks. That means they've realised you are NOT a mug.
By the way, advise to edit your post to remove the reference to where the store is.0 -
You've stumbled across an old thread but nothing has changed since then. We tell people to ignore these fake PCNs every single day in new threads on here. I have ignored just one myself without qualms, but would laugh if ever I collect another!
Read the forum, start at the top with 'PPC letters & threats' and make sure you watch the Watchdog clip explaining what to do with your fake PCN:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163
Read a few other threads that catch your eye as well (not just about this particular place and this Private Parking Co.). You will see in threads about any PPC, any fake PCN, whatever the circs, the answer is the same. Be ready for those computerised, template threatogram letters as shown in the top thread and just tell your household to play 'PPC snap' with them all.
It's just like ignoring some phishing emails and has no effect on credit rating. Conformists aren't daft enough to fall for scams are they? You can also park there again without any worries - it's all a scam and you have not been fined.
And if you were a customer then consider collecting up copies of the threatograms you get over the next few weeks and then complaining in writing with copies of the threats to the Tesco Store Manager and CEO at HO. Complain in the strongest terms about their treatment of paying customers by inflicting them with letters of harassment from a firm well known on the internet to be carrying out a scam akin to a protection racket in Tesco's name. Shame on them.
You are NOT about to pay these scammers now are you? Watch the Watchdog clip and decide.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yes, good advice up there, complain to Tescos, show them how their (completely unnecessary) car park cowboys are doing their utmost to drive customers away from the store.0

Private land = PPC = ignore, ignore, ignore some more.

Hi
i have received a ticket from TPS saying my vehicle was incorrectly parked for 1 minute!
i was not driving the vehicle and have written back saying that is the case and that I do now know who was driving at the time
now they are on about civil proceedings in the court??
is this another case for ignoring their threat letters?
thanks all0 -
It most certainly is.
The civil proceedings they quote (31.16?) do not apply in the small claims court. You'd think they would know that (actually they do, they're hoping you don't).Je Suis Cecil.0
