    Im still convinced £ for £ coal is cheaper than gas....
    im fit and able to clean the fire each day, plus as i say whee i stay.... no gas!
    Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?

    Don`t always believe what the coalman tells you! "Its the same as". He brought a few sample sacks of various smokeless fuels. Turns out that it was Supertherm. I still use this and anthracite, whichever is cheaper at the time. Have not bought any since February so dont know the current prices.

    That seems a very good price your paying. Will they not deliver for that price if you order in bulk?

  • I recently bought a bag of reclaimed solid fuel for testing in my boiler, and it worked as well as coal, the advantage of being half the price of a regular coal is very attractive. I bought a 450kg bag and paid £ 60. Very few sell, but if you search the Internet you can find easily. I found this offer on ebay.

    Coke might be ok for closed appliances but be careful for open fires. It takes a lot of wood to get it going and then burns very hot. Has been known to destroy metal grates.
