I've seen it and wouldn't let my almost 8 year old watch it.
One day I might be more organised...........

San Andreas is a GTA game no? Its an 18 certificate.

Not sure if its a great idea for young kids playing these games. I'm an adult gamer and love GTA but I know too well what language, violence and sexual references are used in every GTA game to date.

Loved it and DD did too - she's 11. Dont remember any swearing.

Wasnt a Harry Potter a 12a - couldnt understand that.

Everychild is different - my nephew still gets scared at Doctor Who.

saw it last night, don't remember the swearing apart from Judy dench swearing, which i only remember as it is not something i associate with Judy Dench.
AND we saw her IN BED WITH A MAN! :rotfl:That shocked me rigid! (mind you it would have shocked me more if she'd been in bed with a woman!)
Signature removed for peace of mind

I thought it was absolutely brilliant!... the best bond so far in my opinion

Each bond film of recent times has seemed to be an exercise in how to outdo the previous one... in terms of special effects and complexity of storyline

But Casino Royale seems like a breath of fresh air... the casting was pure perfection, and in many ways it echoes the old bond films with its simple, well-executed plot.

To answer the question... my initial thoughts were no... but actually I was watching more 'adult' films at 10 years old, and they didnt affect me then any more than they would now.

    Sorry I don't understand this.
Do you mean my son enjoyed for the above reason or it wasn't as overtly sexual because of the above? Or was it me thinking is wasn't too violent?

Sorry if I have missed the point

wasn't overtly sexual because of the above

Age certificates are given for a reason. I have to bite my tongue when a friend gets computer games rated 18 for her 10 year old. Just because its a game doesnt mean it's for kids!!! Similarly if a film is a 12, 15 or 18 it is so for a good reason.
Some things in Harry Potter films are clearly NOT suitable for small children, after all do you REALLY think they will be totally unfazed by skeletons leaping out of the ground?

  • no child should play an 18 rated game - but a 12A rating is different. i see no reason for my ten year old not to watch harry potter.

It's a definate no-no for kids from me. I worked in a secondary school and would never show the film to the 11-16year olds! As well as rougher looking fight scenes than I remember from the older bonds, you see bond tied naked to a bottomless chair getting his nether regions smacked with a big knot on a rope. Mark Kermode (sp?) off the radio says it's not a kids film too.
