Casino Royale Film: Suitability for Children?

Can anyone who has seen the latest James Bond film (Casino Royale) comment on its suitability for 8 year old children? It's rated as a 12A, but I've heard that there is quite a lot of swearing in it and I'm wondering if it is appropriate to take an 8 year old who wants to see it

I wouldnt need_more_money...it is considerably more violent and dark than previous bond films. Personally think it should be a 15.

My work colleagues daughter is 13 and she has a vast horror collection and has been watching them since a young age.

He is trying to get a pirate copy of Saw 3 for her as she has seen the other 2!!!

Personally, I think that if a film is a 12A, it is unlikely to be suitable for children under 12. And I wouldn't take an under 12 to it unless I'd seen it first.

But then, I won't let my 14 yo TRY and get into the cinema for 15s, and I just laugh when he says he wants to go and see an 18 ...

    Yep.

I used to sneak and watch horror videos when i was a little kid when parents were out, but they were the likes of Halloween, Elm Street. But Saw 3???!!!! i'm 33 and found the movie disturbing, no idea what impact that would have on a 13 yeal old!
  • Hi i have seen it and would not take an eight year old, just my opinion. There is swearing and mild sex scenes definately not for an 8 yr old!

I agree with everyone else - this isn't suitable for folks under 12.

I just don't understand this whole 12A thing...So you're saying that under the age of 12 they can go based on their parents guidance. What, you mean like PG? I just don't get it.

Yep I agree too. Watched it last night and found it to be quite violent and unsuitable for kids. Theres a violent scene right at the start of it so its not even like your eased in gently to it.

Really enjoyed it though. Daniel Craig makes a very good bond indeed!
