I'm afraid I have to beg to differ. Sure it's taken a while and has wobbled a bit, but I've manged to get my bid in for 4 sets of tickets. Hardly unexpected but then we should have got our !!!!!s in gear long before now.

Now to wait for June 24th.....

It has been down solid since at least 10.30 p.m here. I'm not going to be able to submit my application.:mad: It refuses to log in and wont even recognise my email address.

Kept crashing for over an hour but managed to submit it eventually!

Some media outlets are reporting that it has been extended by an hour.

Yeah, if you go onto the site, it says it is extended till 1am.

For the record, the extra hour made no difference I could still not login to buy tickets. It seems to be that the system was not processing registrations- I got the email confirmation, activated the account but could never login. So no chance of tickets for me.:(

The huge surge in applications for tickets over the last few days was all over the news and a crash right in the last few hours was no big surprise either. The tickets were on sale for 6 weeks beforehand...

So why didn't they say that it will close at 10p.m then? Why set a deadline that could not have been met? They could have extended the applications for another day in view of the crash. There was absolutely no reason why they could not handle the traffic in the year 2011 if they provided more server space.

I use websites that get millions of hits and huge spikes in traffic (not least a site like this) that never crash and where there can never can be any expectation that they might crash. It is the year 2011, like I say, not 2000.

So to summarise:

1. A mistake that should never have happened borne out of people not doing their job properly.

2. An easy way of rectifying said mistake (extending the deadline) which wasn't taken because they couldn't be bothered and helping the fans was the last thing on their minds.

A metaphor for how sport is run in this country.

sorry its your fault you have had 6 weeks to apply got no one to blame but yourself for leaving it so late.

i applied on day 1, its not logoc fault that people were late, i am sorry but it is unfair to extend the deadline when others have filled in their applications way ahead of time.
