Here is a FAQ
When will I get my tickets?
All tickets will be delivered in summer 2012. For security purposes, your tickets will be billed and delivered to the address you provided in your ticket application. If you need to update your address, please contact the London 2012 Ticketing team

A Visa spokesman said: "From Monday 21 March, all Visa cards with an expiry date of May 2011 or later will be accepted by the London 2012 ticket application website." He added: "Any Visa cardholders with an April expiry date will receive a replacement card before the ticket registration deadline of 26 April."0

I don't think I'd risk my card details on this, I predict 'issues.'0

If you don't want to enter the Ballot and want guaranteed tickets to London 2012 you can also book through Thomas Cook. I did! It does include a hotel so might not be suitable for everyone, but for £99 a person, I got a Boxing ticket & a nighjt in London.
You can be quite clever about how you go about this to avoid the hiked up hotel prices at the time of the Games. So I've booked my £99 ticket and hotel and also checked the ballot for events taking place before my already guaranteed boxing event. So I've got a ticket for boxing on the 2nd August and also applied for beach volleyball tickets for the 1st which is only £20. I went for beach volleyball as its in horse guards parade and close to other things I want to see in London, like Buckingham Palace and the London eye.....I'm SOOOOO EXCITED!!!! I already know I'm going so even if I don't get a ballot ticket I'm still going to be there!!!! :j:j:j:j:j:j

Hello. I move houses frequently as I am a student in London so I don't have my own place. Certain reasons (like end of tenancy agreement, higher rental etc) makes me move accomodations often. I am sure I will not be in my current place after more than one year. I am also sure I will change more than one house before Olympics. For me it's too expensive to get Royal Mail redirection service everytime I move.
I really want to apply for tickets though. There surely must be people in the same situation as me. Even for people who are stable in terms of address - sometimes the life is unpredictable!
I believe the organisers of Olympic games must have thought about this. You should be able to let them know in 2012 your new address for the safe ticket delivery.
So all I can do is to apply for tickets and the next year to contact them about my new address.:think:0 -
Just to re-emphasise...
...some of the excellent posts above - especially #22 from travellingbum - the organisers will not tell you what you've got, and give you warning to get the money into your account. So you need to have funds in your account to cover the whole potential cost of the tickets you've applied for. The first you'll know about getting tickets is that the money will go. Unnecessary, stupid and liable to cause a lot of trouble, but there it is. Here's the message I got from them:
We will not be informing customers of what they have been successful in obtaining before we attempt to charge the card. It is advised to ensure the maximum total cost is available in your account between the dates of 10th May and 10th June 2011.0 -

Looks like from what Ive been reading this morning that the tickets are well oversubscribed & likely there will be a lot of disappointed people out there.
Why they didnt limit number of tickets to a reasonable number I dont know - you could buy up to 20 - yes 20 tickets for a lot of events!0 -
I've applied but l'm not impressed with the way they're doing it, what if l am 'lucky' enough to get ALL the tickets l've asked for? I'd only like to go for one or two but l've put extra on just in case - £600 worth!
Yes l can resell them but what a palaver, rather they'd tell you what you've 'won' then you can pay and accept if you want to.
No wonder tickets are 'over-subscribed' if it's all or nothing
