TBH I think they have got it spot On, I have taken part in scrambling for festival tickets this year and its not fun! This way everyone gets a fair chance but lets face it however they chose to do it someone would moan that there is a better way.

    Martin's put in his article

"If you are allocated tickets and later decide you no longer want them you will be able to resell them at face value early next year via an official London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games website."

    BUT...

"However, even though you will pay for the tickets this May or June, you will not be refunded until next year."

So you can sell them on, you will just be out of pocket for a year...

Will they give you the chance to give them alternative payment...NO. Will you go overdrawn...It depends on how your bank see the transaction, if your bank refuses the transaction you will lose the tickets.

I wanted to try for tickets but you can only request 4 tickets, as we are a family of five, mum & dad and three kids we decided not to as how would we choose who to stay home and miss the event.

It depends on the events, there were plenty where you could apply for more than 4 tickets, it was just some of the most popular ones that were limited to 4.

The Official website has the following

When will my Visa card be charged?
Payment will be taken from all successful applicants between Tuesday 10 May and Friday 10 June 2011. Your Visa card will only be charged the actual value of your application once the application process is complete and if tickets have been allocated to you.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have funds available for the full amount of your ticket application and that your Visa card does not expire before the end of this period.

If you Visa card is declined or rejected, your application may be withdrawn.

What should i do if my Visa card is due to expire?

You need to ensure that your Visa card does not expire before August 2011. This is to ensure that your card is valid for payment for the whole of the Olympic Games application process.

If your card expires before August 2011 please contact your bank to renew your card. Alternatively, a Visa prepaid product (including a Visa Virtual card) is a quick and easy way to start paying with Visa immediately.
I still dont get this. If I applied for £400 worht of tickets and only get £150 worth do they only take the £150 from my account?>

Yes- you only pay for what you get. You apply for £400 worth- you need £400 to cover that just in case you get all you ask for.
  • The website has crashed- you can't login. What a joke. Surely they could have anticipated this and put on extra servers?
