I asked him why he had refused the voucher and he said the timing was different (24 hr) clock and that I had only spent £23.00 and got a voucher for £19.00.

it has been over 7 days since this thread was started. initially, no problems. people were getting DTD vouchers accepted. a few days in, 2 or 3 posts reporting that they were unsuccessful.
today? about 20 throughout the whole day.
i can only see this getting worse......:grouphug:

I think he thought it was a fraudulent voucher I dont know what gave him that idea. I just printed the voucher of that I was sent and took it in. He acted as though people had been creating the voucher themselves. I dont think I could go back to that store to do a shop as he said he had refused a number of vouchers already. When I told him about the timing difference. He said he had some vouchers with the correct time on.(not 24 hrs) hope that makes sense.
could you not have asked him to phone customer services and give them the email you used so they could confirm it was issued?DEC GC £463.67/£450

ok, first thing tomorrow you need to call customer services in Dundee. You need to tell them exactly what has happened and also STRESS your embarrassment as there were a lot of people watching and you were made to feel like a fraudster.
The ultimate aim of this is to get them to call the store, whilst you are on the phone and tell them that this is unacceptable behaviour from one of their managers. You then need to tell them that they need to instruct the store to accept this receipt and get the managers name of who they have spoken to.
You will then be able to return to the store and spend the voucher. Imagine the satisfaction you will get if it is the same manager and he has to be nice to you!!!
If this fails, I would imagine they will send you a gift card for the amount but make sure you get the full name of who you have spoken to.
I had to do this a few times during the R&R days and it feels great going back into store and coming face to face with the same manager who made you feel like a thief!0 -
He's a bit dim, bless, isn't he. If you buy your shopping in the morning, it should have the correct time on. I'm yet to receive a voucher (fingers crossed) but this is common sense!I think he thought it was a fraudulent voucher I dont know what gave him that idea. OMG, do these work??? I would buy them if they did, just for the profit! :beer:wow...276,891 views on this thread and only 92 people have thanked gazwood for starting us off!
Not all unique viewers though! I don't know about the rest of you but I've viewed this thread about 4,791 times. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I went to redeem a voucher tonight. SA was lovely but didn't know what to do with it and said she thought I'd need to take it to Asda to be redeemed:rotfl:
I explained it was a Tesco promotion and she said 'Yes, I know about the promotion but if you bought from us originally, it's Asda who you will need to take your voucher to.' I asked why Asda should cough up because Tesco were more expensive but thankfully a supervisor came across at that point and took the necessary action
It seems the 'staff briefing' that has taken place about this promotion is working well:cool:

They wouldn't accept my NOTW voucher, said they were not obliged to do so.
Then they were very difficult & rude when I presented my DTD voucher for £72 ish. First said that time was wrong .. I told them about 12h/24h problem....they said they knew about it so don't know why they said i couldn't use my voucher for this reason. Then they said they couldn't accept it because i hadn't used my clubcard. I said my OH had it in his car from buying petrol. I said nothing in terms & conds about clubcard needing to be used. Eventually after a lot of hanging around & being made to feel like i'm a criminal they took my DTD voucher .. but not the NOTW one.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a more helpful store in the area?! (got another voucher for £25 but dreading having to use it now)
hi just catching up with the thread
i have just been to the tesco you are referring to, my 2nd DTD shop there, first one the cashier didn't even ask to look at my old receipt, didn't know what to do and just scanned the voucher and it worked !
this eve we had a bit more trouble but nothing major, only 2 cashiers -picker the dippy looking one who had to call CS lady who went to have a conflab with anothe CS lady, eventually came back and said yes its fine as long as numbers on bottom match they were ok and to make sure signed original receipt -that was my sis
for me the cashier tried to do it herself and decided one of the digits ( a zero BEFORE one of the numbers didn't match and so called CS again who confirmed it was ok) then i gave her a NOTW coupon and some mccain coupons as well (yes i know pushing my luck !!LOL!) and she had to ask the cashier next to her who said yeah i've heard something about those £5 coupons its ok.
So it seems its all a bit hit and miss depending on which cashier you choose
Tesco in Edenthorpe are lovely and i had the Personell manager serve me there she had to laise with others re what to do but was really nice about it, didn't make me feel like i wa some sort of criminal, try there??GRATITUDE WHEN GIVEN, PATIENCE WHEN DENIED

Are we just chatting on this thread now or posting our successful DTD shopping too?
I put my latest list on the other thread if it's any help to anyone.;)
blackshoequeen - there's (extremely helpful) chat here as well as lists. Some of us are following both threads, some don't want to chat/swap tips so they just stick to the other one. Whatever works for you.

i agree is this a problem with stores in a certain area as i'm crap with geography? lolRich_by_Name wrote: »If he had refused a number of vouchers for that reason today, would it not be more indicitive of a problem with Tesco and the way their vouchers are printed?
Or does he think that every 'fraud' that's printing vouchers has made the same fundamental error with timing?
What a clown he is!0
