Tesco/Asda pricechecker finds here.......

I had done a weekly shop before i realised that there was dtd on. Once I had done my first dtd shop I decided to enter details of it and my last shop. My weekly shop came back with everything matched and tesco was £6 cheaper.
So I'm not really sure why there is so much dislike of tescos. In fact i would guess that most folks who don't know about here will enter their receipts and find there is little difference between tesco and asda. I know that my mother who shops in asda all the time, has stopped entering her reciepts as it wasn't worth it.
Its good while it lasts, but tbh there is only so much junk food and alcohol I can buy.(that's me hung over and on a sugar high!!)
Meanwhile, tesco has lowered loads of prices on "real" stuff and i have done an online shop , using one of my vouchers on things I actually will use in a normal week. There are loads of reductions just made in the last couple of days, with a heap starting tomorrow, so all our hard work is benefitting the masses as well:)weight loss target 23lbs/49lb0 -
By removing the pricechecker Tesco have shot themselves in the foot and put us at an advantage. Here's why...
When the pricechecker was working we had a vast choice of goods to compare and people were doing large shops, getting a couple of vouchers back which took them over the monthly £100 limit after one or two shops. Lots of money spent in Tesco.
Now we can't find the good DTD's so easily we will be doing smaller initial shops, so less money going into Tesco's tills.
But we can still repeat those small shops up to 10 times a month, getting DTD back each time. A small initial spend of £20 or even £10 will net a £100 profit after submitting receipts 5 or 10 times. Previously some people have spent £50 or more just to get £100 back, it could have been achieved just as easily with a much smaller initial spend.
This time round we spend less and profit more, Mr T loses out.
So cheer up and pour yourselves a glass of whatever liquid you bought in Tesco's.............. as long as it wasn't Surf.

I have searched the thread, but was just wondering does anyone have any experience (in a dtd sense!) with Morgans Spiced Rum? Looking to buy a bottle as a gift, and may as well splash out on a litre if DTD is likely to work. Prices stack up as follows;
70cl is £13in T, £11 in A. Whereas 1L is just shy of £19 in T, and £16 in A.
Now as any rum drinker knows, £10 effectively for a litre of Spiced is not to be sniffed at! I guess what I'm asking is can anyone see any reason it wouldn't work? Thanks in advance.
Hmm, and I've just remembered I've got some clubcard £2 off £20 spend vouchers- would that be safe to use with it? (Apologies if this one has already been asked)DTD...Dreading The Detox.0 -
Just out of intrest what could Tescos do if someone went over their monthly limit of £100. I for one wont be, but im just wandereing how they are policing it
They can trace it back to you, if you shop and use a voucher, your dtd will then be linked with your receipt, you spend the dtd and it is linked with the next receipt and so forth, which can be linked with cctv which could lead to a ban - best case scenario, prosecution worst. To be honest if your all going to be dishonest and break the terms then I can't see why they bother doing this promotion, the people who feel that the terms do not apply to them are going to be why this is pulled.Comping wishlist for 2017

I don't think they have a chance of policing it at the moment as I think all hands will be to the pump just getting DTD vouchers processed. Going forward, I'm still not convinced they will have time/resources to police it. Which is not to say I am condoning it!
PS Would love to know how many members of staff they have working on this at the moment...0 -
