I find it incredibly hard to believe that programmers at Tesco cannot write a simple program to rip the prices from Asda's website when they update and automatically change them on their EPOS systems, in fact i'd wager a child could write said program.

That is clearly a statement that only someone with no computer programming knowledge could make. A database containing Asda's own prices and the product barcodes won't be available on their website. Tesco would be relying on a 100% match in the name of the product for your idea to work.

There's many different ways to write the name of the same product - a program wouldn't get that high a proportion of matches across the two.

It tends to be the Little Hitlers who have this attitude - the ones who have been given the uniform and promoted to supervisor beyond their ability but because they are loyal to the cause. IME most of the checkout staff at Tesco like Tesco as much as I do (i.e. not at all!) and are fine. An example, the other day I was at a large Extra store putting my shopping thru the self service till when I got the usual automated request - unexpected item in bagging area - called young chap over and made my usual joke 'she thinks I'm shoplifting' to which he replied, and i quote: 'You can for me, I don't give a monkeys'. This chap won't get a supervisor uniform, I suspect (nor would he want one!)

Hi all,
Just wondered if any of you had managed to get the| double the difference on Cadbury Creme egg 12 pack. I bought these on tues and they werte £6 in tesco £4 in asda both on the websites and I am sure they were on teh pricechecker too (I have been checking all 3 and am sure I didn't forget on this day). They are still teh same price. On my DTD voucher it hasn't comapred - anybody else?

I think chances are they haven't seen a voucher like that before(took 3 to the same store already and every time I had to train them what to do with it) and will not be aware of the 100GBP limit... you can always say that they just send it to you like that and how you can use it otherwise? just play innocent and stupid, should work imo... I even got one of the vochers cashed in by CS (just went there as I was told by a manager the day before that she's been tols to send people to CS for refund with the vochers so I wanted to try my luck)... Just do it asap before it all goes mad
