just got back from T and used my voucher to buy a couple more DTD things.
SA called over supervisor/manager and she said to me she'd seen them before and looked at the till screen then said, You've purposely got these things knowing they are more expensive in Tesco than Asda, don't come again with your reciept and don't input in the price checker, because we're on to you, we've had loads of people doing this.:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
I was reallly running late so had to jst say errr...ok but did manage through her brawl to say what if I genuinely wanted these things ( I did and was going to buy most anyway!) she said yh but we're onto you!:(

I feel like she's accusing me of doing something completely wrong and because she was turned to the side I didn't even get her name!
Any help on CS e-mail address that would get attention?

    TIA
p.s. my cornetto must've melted too
p.p.s It was my first time using the voucher!

Complain to HO and i'd get on to Trading Standards, it's Tescos offer and you've innocently checked your shopping to be confronted with this barrage of abuse, I think TS would be interested

Crikey that's shocking!! I'd be sacked instantly if I spoke to someone at work like that! Definately complain. I think someone posted (quite a few back) the email address for complaints.

It has really put me off using my voucher and using Tesco tbh, I decided I'm going to use my voucher tomorrow as dd has been difficult today and can't concentrate making a list for the shop.

I would hate for that to happen to me, I don't know if I would have burst into tears or put them in their place if it had happened to me, I hope that she gets reprimanded.

Seems like some Tesco CS staff need retraining. Happy enough for customers o buy something when they think they're getting a good deal only to find out they've been charged much more than elsewhere. I'm using the DTD to try and stock up on things I'd not normally buy because they're too expensive. Stores cut prices on things as a loss leader to get you in and hopefully you will buy others at the same time. They can't then complain if people are exploiting an offer. For every person that exploits there will be 2 or 3 that get exploited.

    good point, but i reckon it's 20 to 30 rather than 2 or 3.

the DTD is huge fiasco for Tesco and they are losing enormous amount of money ... in my store (extra) they were withdrawing products as a matter of emergency and lowered a lot of prices ... I was not able to get my coffee, because at the till I was told it should not be on the shelf ... and yes I am exploiting the system ... so what ... don't put a system prone to so many problems in place and don't proudly and repetetively state how you will DTD if you are more expensive than ASDA ...

That's insanely rude! It doesn't matter whether you buy those things all the time or just want to exploit the offer - it's none of the SA's business!

I work for a leisure company which has a big discount voucher offer on at the moment and when we had it last year, we had large groups with lots of photocopies of the voucher when it was meant to be one per email (although I think it has changed now). Annoying? Yes. But it's the company's offer and if a squillion people find a loophole or a legitimate way of getting as much out of the offer as possible then that's none of my business - and I would have probably been sacked on the spot if I spoke to anyone the way you were spoken to.

    Complain!

Haha, what company and how to get a voucher? lol :D
  • If anyone said to me, we are on to you and don't come back I would definitely respond with 'on what grounds do you wish to ban me' no more, use the technique WAIT (why am I talking) whenever you come up against confrontation. You will find that by not saying anything once you have got your point across or question to them they will be the one in the uncomfortable position not you. You should also suggest that if they believe you are doing anything illegitimate that they substantiate it and I would be tempted to retort in a rather loud voice - who would like to get some shopping for free legally and legitimately. Give me your e-mail address and I will e-mail you a link - to this forum.

By working within the T&C's of DTD and pricechecker no one is breaking any rules, they are using competitive advantage to gain an edge. Nothing more and nothing less.

And yes, I would definitely go back if I hadn't got their names, walk up to them to their face and take a note of their name with a pen and paper, say nothing and walk out. That would make your day, and ruin their weekend (rightly IMO).

i return something before using voucher( taking print out as back up), but either way make sure you have a print out of the results with you to prove it wasn't compared so not part of the dtd.

Quick question - I bought 3 bottles of wine which came back N/F - can I return them to CS after I've used my DTD voucher for £21?
It was my first of 2 x DTD shop - I split them at the checkout!
    Thanks in advance.
