while we are making the most of a good deal within the t&c of the offer, I got told that there are some people who are creating fraudulent vouchers and spending them over and over (not buying any overpriced goods at all).

Any remember the 30% off Gap vouchers which got amended to say 90% off

Maybe they are trying to fix this problem.
Never thought of that, makes sense now as the cashier has to input the amount manually.

    morning all!

been over that last 10 pages since i went to bed last night.

for those who want a round up:

still can't search on price check website, questions like tesco pulling the plug, revamping t&cs etc.
still no vouchers being sent out, some waiting for 36+ hours.
tesco have a backlog, expect a few days wait for your voucher.

I have used 4 vouchers and never once been asked for the receipt. Down to bad staff training at the end of the day.

Yes but that is fraud and they will prosecute hardly worth it for £25 saving is it, you have to have a reciept that matches anyway so you would have to buy your shop, they will have scanable vouchers before you know it and I imagine they could get around this with a call to head office to check the voucher amount tallies with your reciept.

just been on the phone to tesco and you could be waiting 2-5 days to get the results as they have a backlog they say they are training more staff (I think they should have had the process completely automated)

The simplest way to curb most DTD shopping is to take linger to process your receipt. That way you can't go back in the next day and buy it all over again.... Or they could just genuinely be overwhelmed?
  • There is a safeguard in place, you have to take your original receipt in with the voucher and the casher should sign the receipt to show it has been used.... But i think once again training has not been given to the staff on the front line and they do not know what they should be doing..... I still remember the days of, if it was overpriced you got your money back and the product for free... Always had problems with that and was even banded from my local tesco's for rumaging!!! Always needed a call to CS to sort it out.....

I doubt that, they know what customer volumes they have, and they know that with all the advertising they have all customers will just input their receipts on the off chance.

I do however think that by lengthening the process, they will have to give out less vouchers.
