Not as much as the sound of a skidding wheel.
Remember some years ago my sister braking in plenty of time, car coming the other way, she decided just to wait.
No danger to cyclist, bit heavy on the brake, one of the wheels locked.
Poor guy nearly landed in a field.0 -

She wound you up enough to post on here, so I'd say it's a safe bet that you were.
Perhaps get some more exercise?0 -

I'm with ventureuk on this one although I wouldn't have been quite so blunt! :rotfl:
If you're not too lazy you cold try reading rule 112 of the highway code.
By your own admission you were not sounding your horn to warn others of your presence.
That means you were in the wrong regardless of how bad or stupid you think the cyclist was.

Actually, technically, it was the correct use of the horn.
"112
The horn. Use only while your vehicle is moving and you need to warn other road users of your presence. Never sound your horn aggressively. You MUST NOT use your horn- while stationary on the road
- when driving in a built-up area between the hours of 11.30 pm and 7.00 am
The cyclist could have damaged the car if they had gone under it, or made the motorist late waiting for the fire engine to get the car off, if they didn't come out from the back.0 -

the clause is written from the perspective of the person in the car ie except when another road user poses a danger to you.
There is no logical reason why I would sound my horn if I see two vehicle on a roundabout about to collide.

If the cyclist in front was hit by a car, at worse the tangled buckled mess could bounce back and scratch my car, at best I'd feel obliged to stop, and it could make me late.0
