I would also agree that Biasi have terrible support and would not recommend them. They have no regard for customer service and talk to you like C***. The last boiler I saw fitted lasted 3 months. After 2 replacement parts., that were paid for by the landlord as Biasi didn't want to know because it was not a new system, it was decided to junk it and by a better brand.

If mse users see my recent posts it is not just Biasi who "talk to you like c***".

Perhaps it is standard procedure for boiler manufacturers to operate in this way?

Which then begs the question how do they get away with it?

Which might be because they all have the same approach to product support?
  • Hi!
I'm reading this forum for years and never took park in any thread. :)

Ok, I've read all the pages of this thread and now I can see that the best boiler is Vailant. Ok, thats is simple. Now the question.
I bought a house without central heating and now I need to install boiler, pipework, radiators, controls.... Where can I find the cheapest specialist to carry out this kind of works? I live in london. Any adwise is welcome :)
    Thank you!
  • I think its easier to tell people which to steer clear of.
    Ravenheat
    Alpha
    Ferroli
    Biasi
    Sime
Heatline (I've fitted these and although not bad they are blooming expensive to repair)
Glowworm (the daftest parts pricing scheme in the world, very expensive to repair)
anyone care to add any others?

Haha, I have the worst boiler ever made and no one has mentioned it or the brand, KESTON Celsius 25!

Yes the flue runs through the ceiling void space from the kitchen through the living room to the outside, just drainpipe. Whoever designed this system should be shot.

BG visit here monthly/weekly, never ever works. Now it's leaking acidic water all over the worktop as the rubber gasket has split on the heat exchanger, I think it's had 5 PCB's changed in the past 4 months too!

Was just curious to what is reliable as BG are coming to do a quote tomorrow for a new boiler or completely overhaul the Keston.

5 Year old boiler possibly being ripped out, madness.:rotfl:

no one has mentioned them cause everyone took it as a given that everyone already knew that :p

you also need to read this

why BG unless they are replacing the boiler FOC, you would be better getting a local recommended RGI he will be able to advise you & will normally be upto 40% cheaper than BG
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

BG have offered £700 off, they are coming to quote tomorrow, the other stupid thing is the Keston takes a 15mm gas pipe! most are 22mm.

    Thanks for the link.

I am all too familiar with this flues in voids nonsense, it's stupid because the boiler is on an outside wall as the house is detached! why oh why did they run pipes to the back of the house?

There is an ongoing complaint with BG over this boiler, they will not replace it and the engineers have been quite unprofessional, they have said in swear words what they think of the boiler, also someone local came in to do a quote and when I had a senior BG engineer out to assess it, he knew already someone had been here to quote, all seem a bit too matey matey with each other!

Not to mention them splitting the plastic control panel, leaving black oil marks all over the boiler and inside the cupboard, smashed my espresso cups etc.

My gas bills are 300-400 per quarter so something is wrong, the flue is black but they say 9%? what ever that means is in spec with Keston, but the neighbours flues are not black.

And it's locked in to a home care contract, which they won't cancel unless every recent call out has been paid for which totals over £1100.

BG always offer a few hundred off. Last summer it was £400. Their quote for our system was almost twice what we paid a local RGI.

it may have already been a black flue, 9% will be the co2 measurement this is the air/gas mixture that is going through to the burner this is adjusted via the gas valve & for your boiler should be between 8-9%

your MI is here if you don't already have it

Keep off Worcester Bosch, we had our greenstar 28i fitted just over 4 year ago and its had 3 major faults ,pressurisation unit went ,manifold block went and I am currently trying to sort out another manifold leak right now .
Had a Worcester combi in last house for over 9 year absolutely brilliant heating on nearly all day every day due to 4 females in house ,4/6 showers a day (shower run of combi ) thats why when we moved I went for another Worcester .........big mistake they are now Worcester Bosch, German owners have ruined them .Many plastic parts inside (manifolds that used to be brass)
    Avoid is my advice .
Keep in your thoughts the poor Beasts of burden around the World and curse All who do them harm.

I am looking to buy a new gas condenser boiler and would appreciate any tips or advice as to which is the best one to buy and what to look for.

personally I would go with Biasi boilers latest range, i had a Advance Plus fitted at a cheap price and have recommended to two family members. the hot water performance is exceptional and most the parts used inside are used by all the over priced boilers on the market.
