Which is best Condenser Boiler to buy?

This is a fascinating thread. I reckon I;m going to need a new boiler with the next year or so. The current one is a WB CD24, located in the kitchen but on an external wall. I'd like a new kitchen fitted too and was wondering are there any boilers out there that would physically fit behind a kitchen unit but not compromise on power and efficiency.
Also whats the difference between a condensing boiler and a combi. Forgive me I'ma woman on my tod and know nothing of boilers! Please be kind in your replies.
Thanks! :-)0 -

As far as I know, all new boilers which are sold now have to be condensing boilers as they are more efficient than the non-condensing type.
Therefore, your new boiler will be a condensing boiler.
You then need to decide whether you want a conventional boiler (ie one which you have to set the timer to heat the water) or a combi boiler where the water is heated as you use it so you always have hot water. There are also other types which are somewhere inbetween the 2 main types but I don't really understand those.0 -
We have a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 24i Junior and find it is adeque for our needs, that is Hot Water and Central Heating covering nine radiators.
We get ours serviced annually for £45.00 and although it is only four years old works 100% and we are very happy with its performance.0 -
I think its easier to tell people which to steer clear of.
Ravenheat
Alpha
Ferroli
Biasi
Sime
Heatline (I've fitted these and although not bad they are blooming expensive to repair)
Glowworm (the daftest parts pricing scheme in the world, very expensive to repair)
anyone care to add any others?0 -

No point repeating the post I made tonight, but my experiences with Worcester Bosch have left me with doubts. Whilst I could be an isolated case all my contacts in the construction industry have painted a similar picture. In essence, this is a good product and brand but let down by indifference, arrogance and poor back up from Headquarters at Worcester. A number of colleagues have said the staff need shaking out of their slumbering and waking up to give a service. Either that or start sacking them, this may put the remainder on their toes.0 -

Totally agree, I'm pro Worcester but any manufacturer who has their head up their a** will eventually lose sales if they become lazy and indifferent.0 -

Believe it or not I too am pro Worcester Bosch, but with each passing year in recent timed they are losing the plot! And the crazy thing is they are too arrogant to see it. Even I, a mere mortal, have "sounded off" to the Managing Director. And written a formal complaint for his personal attention...Yes I got a reply, yes I was offered compensation, yes at this stage I was treated with courtesy...but it should never have got to this stage. The company is staffed by arrogant, lazy ba---rds!0 -

We had a brand new Biasi installed over a year ago they have been out 3 times to fix it and its currently bust, they say they can not get out to fix it until the end of the week my wife is 9 months pregnant and it -3 tonight. Overall their levels of communication have been awful and customer service atrocious.
I can highly recommend that you do not buy Biasi0 -
I would also agree that Biasi have terrible support and would not recommend them. They have no regard for customer service and talk to you like C***. The last boiler I saw fitted lasted 3 months. After 2 replacement parts., that were paid for by the landlord as Biasi didn't want to know because it was not a new system, it was decided to junk it and by a better brand.0
