Vasectomy Vs Sterilisation

Bet he didn't say ' and how will you manage if you don't have it and your wife has sextuplets'He was asked what if something happened to the baby, what if something happened with me and him and replied that if something happened to the baby nothing and nobody could replace him so we wouldn't be seeking to have another baby. With regards to me and him, he said that he wasn't going to live his life with the what if's if we split or I died.
.................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -
I was sterilised last year after a battle and a half. I have two step daughters and no biological children. I'm not interested in having any of my own and hubby didn't want any more. A lot of the hormones in contraception didn't agree with me and a few other issues too. I ended up having to get a second opinion in another trust area as my local consultant was very patronising and refused to do the op even though I was adamant.
The morning of the laparoscopy was great. I was very laid back and not nervous at all. The downer was the female SHO who came to see me before my op. She was very much of the opinion, are you sure you want this done? You have no children of your own, you're very young (I was 35 at the time!) my (male) consultant had never doubted me for a second and said after my op when he came to see me that I looked a lot happier and immensly more relaxed :rotfl:
For anyone in the same position as I was, if you are adamant you want to be sterilised, go for it. Stick to your guns and don't back down. Seek more than one opinion if you have to, as I did.
I don't regret my decision for a second

I had a vasectomy about 8 weeks ago. The operation went very well, and I've recovered well - more or less "by the book". The ONLY thing I have noticed is that I have two peanut size hard lumps in my scrotum. I had initially assumed this was swelling or leaked semen ... but the lumps have not changed in size or firmness at all over the past weeks. They deffo were not there before.
I am planning on getting them checked out at the GP to be sure - but has any guys on here had a similar experience??0
