My downfall appears to be popping into the supermarket for just some bread, milk and loo rolls and ending up paying £24 - although it was food that is in the meal plan. :o

And... being convinced to go to B&Q with OH and pay for the stuff he needs for a job of course!!

Yeah, I've tried to do this little challenge/change of lifestyle but I think the run up to Christmas isn't the best time for me to start (although I probably would benefit from it!) I am thinking of a dozen different things at the same time and if I can't keep up with my weightwatchers tracker I doubly struggling with my spending record!!

So 2007 - week 1 - I WILL KEEP A RECORD OF ALL SPENDING!!! Probably cos there'll be nothing else to do cos I'll have no money to spend!!

Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.
  • Count me in too please.

I had my LBM last onth and already plan a budget based on my expected income and usual outgoings each month. I do put everything into a spreadsheet at the end of every day, but an actuall spending diary will definately help.

  • Can I join too please? Have my spending diary at the ready! (okay a notebook that I 'borrowed' from the stationary cupboard at work!)
    Targets for 2014 :

    OP mortgage £18000

    Pay £4260 into ISA

Hi guys - erm, (slightly sheepishly) I've been run off my feet since I started this, applying for jobs, preparing for aptitude tests and numerous other things that my ageing brain can't cope with. I'm so sorry for leaving everyone in the lurch, but I have two weeks over Christmas off and am planning on starting the fly lady debt free challenge 1st Jan, once Christmas is out of the way. I've been on the flylady website and have heaps of ideas written down for a sort of start-up calendar, like they do. In the meantime if you can keep your spending diaries up then you are a better person than i - well done! I'll launch the challenge again with lots of publicity and make sure you are all notified. Merry Christmas everyone!

  • Thank god for that - I thought I had missed it! Been keeping an eye open, but figured it slipped past me and I was being a bit of a lightweight already.

The spending diary is going well - what a revelation!!! I have made a few changes to my spending already just based on what i have seen, so it must be working!

Cant wait for the new year (have asked for vouchers as presents, so i can go sale shopping without the guilt!)

Have a happy xmas fellow fly babies, see ya soon

well done mrs bellamy! I am still struggling to maintain a spending diary, however I have been bought a filofax for my birthday and so hopefully having it around me wherever i go will provide somewhere to start writing spends down.

    Debt-free and Proud!
Oh - can I join in too... pleeeze?! Miggy just reminded me about Flylady on my diary thread and I have sort of started a "baby steps" approach there (trying to do one small thing towards being debt free each day).

But would love to do this with you guys! I started a spending diary a couple of weeks ago so off to a good start!
