katierose wrote:Hi,Do you write just the amount you spend or each individual item.
I write down a combination, so for my weekly food shop i would just put down:
food shopping £16.97
for other things i would put them down individually, e.g. bits that i had gone for during the week
loaf of bread £0.99
shampoo £1.99
And sometimes when i have spent alot more than normal on my food shop, like when i bought the ingredients for my christmas cake, i put this on separately
food shop £21.00
christmas cake ingredients £9.64
If i were you I'd start down by putting the amount you spend, and then when you start to look through the lists you might wonder why you are spending so much on x, in which case it might help to put more detail down for certain spends - does that make sense?Debt Oct 2005: £32,692.94

Could I join please? I must confess that I have only read 2pages (am going to go back and read everything) but what a fab idea. The gang on here never cease to amaze me such fantastic ideas.Blind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.

Please can you add me to the list too! I've been really poorly for the last two days (water infection, oh the joys of pregnancy, do they never end?!), but on the plus side, I've been too ill to go to the shops, therefore two no-spend days in a row!! can i play too please.
I am a fritterer, no doubt about it, so a spending diary is just what i need to buck my ideas up a bit.
Thank you....another happy bug.........sorry,blogger embracing the simple life0 -
sorry for the silence over the weekend fly babies, however I haven't been slacking. Over the weekend I had a brain storm about habits i want to develop and have heaps to bring into the site over the next few weeks. I'm going to start a new thread that just has the challenges for each day, and keep this one for joinees to say hello and for any updates, chat or feedback. Probably get around to doing this during my lunch break today, so hold tight and keep writing down those spends!Debt Oct 2005: £32,692.94

Any more ideas for this Tondella? Have I missed a new thread at all?
Still faithfully making a note of spends, which is actually quite enlightening! Also means I make a note of exactly who owes me whatworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Me too
My list started out full of scribbles as I tried to remember what I'd bought each day... now I happily get my little book out wherever I am and jot stuff down
Weekends appear to be my downfall, but last weekend was my bf's birthday so surely I can be excused 2 x bars of Lindt to make his birthday cake?! Other "slips" included a take-away Indian meal, a little loaf of expensive bread, goats cheese and tub of olives from the "international market" that was visiting, and buying cakes for my daughters school fayre (we made them for their Children in Need fundraisng day the other week, and they were cheaper and nicer).Proud to be dealing with my debts:dance:
