due to the disgusting lack of public loos/out of order ones. ALL retail places with loos should b open to anyone.
the weekend before xmas Wolverhampton toilets in the centre were closed due to 'frozen pipes' and then their standalone toilet was also 'out of order'. I dont see how this is acceptable in any town centre.
I'm guessing if one was closed due to frozen pipes then it would have been the same reason for the other. If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550 -
How about this then.......... local council have shut public toilets in the town centre near me and put a sign up actually saying the nearest toilets are in Tesco / Asda. :eek:0

how can anyone tell a child they cant use a toilet somewhere ok adults can hold it till they find somewhere else but kids could wet themselves in the middle of town causing them embarrasment and discomfort there arent any public toilets anymore they are all closed down so they have to go somewhere i find turning a child away wrong even if i had been told it was rules if i worked there i would have let a kid go
dont anyone tell me about spelling or punctuation cause i couldnt care less0 -
It's fairly standard policy that pubs, restaurants, cafe's etc have toilets that are for customer use only. It costs them money to provide the facilities after all.
I think if you asked the manager or member of staff it would be okay instead of ignoring them;)please do not pick on me for my grammar,I left school at fifteen and worked in the building trade for 55years ,

The little one needed a wee so she asked staff if she could use the staff loos. Big no, not even for a child. Her DH was stressing as LO was desperate, but luckily my friend had one of those folding porta potty things, with the 'soak it up pee pads'. She said I should have seen the member of staff's face as she got the potty out in the store and as LO started to wee the pad came away from the potty and leaked onto the floor!!
I'm sorry but that was fairly selfish and disgusting thing for your friend to do in the middle of a shop that sells equipment people are going to eat off.
I used to work in a catering environment on the shop floor and the amount of paperwork and cleaning safeguards that had to be put in place if there were ever bodyfluids (we had incidents of charming young men spitting on the floor, accidental cuts with knives etc) took hours to sort out.0 -
They're closing down public toilets all over the place. what exactly are people supposed to do? your not allowed to pee in the street... ofcourse most people go to the toilet before they leave the house but people don't always just go out for a few hours. in my opinion toilets should be a necessity in towns for the reason that everyone has to pee at least every few hours and people shouldn't be made to pay to pee.0

Not funny - just selfish on the part of your friend - why not go outside the store?
Why do so many people think that they are entitled to do as they wish with scant regard for others?:hello:0 -

can't speak for the person in this case, but if my toddler wanted a wee right there and then, there wouldn't be time to march them out of the shop, potty is better than floor puddle is it not (this coming from the mother of a child who at 3 years old pee'd in the trolley seat in the middle of m&s food hall and left the biggest puddle you have ever seen, and they had plenty of customer toilets)
when i worked at one of the major supermarkets in a central location, which didn't have public toilets, we were under strict instructions that if anyone asked to urgently use a toilet we were to discreetly escort them upstairs through the warehouse to the staff facilities... it happened occasionally, and the people were always very grateful, although slightly disgusted as the warehouse was filthy and the toilets even worse! ever since, i have never found a single place that would let my child use the staff toilet, and think it's utterly disgusting behaviour on the part of retailers.
i think the op should return to the offending restaurant in question, with their child bursting for a wee (have spare clothes with you) and when refused access to the toilet, let the invitable happen... i am sure a few incidents like that will change the managers mind once the puddles put off the other customers0 -
Sorry, meant to say I quoted that from somewhere else. I've no idea if there is a law but for some reason quite a lot of people seem to think there is when it comes to those who are preggers.
Pretty sure it'll be an urban myth. Theres some rubbish I see sometimes written on here about pregnant women being able to go in a policemans helmet...that definately is an urban myth after much researching I did on Google once about it.0 -

Exactly it's just childish behaviour really, but some people think this sort of thing makes them look clever.0
