BHS really stand by there "you must buy something policy" i was about 34 weeks pregnant and really needed to go, the nearest public toilets we're about 5 minutes normal person walk (i waddled as i was massive!) away so i popped in, and asked to use the toilet, they flat out refused and said i MUST buy something, i asked really really nicely, ended up in tears and had to cross my legs all the way to the public loo's!
So they employ someone to stand outside to check receipts?

over £600 in cheap nasty processed "food" into the body of your 4yr old(& Yourself) every year.... thats the only shocking part!

It works out at about £120 for the 4 year old. Not much really for the course of a year when it includes drinks too.

Oh, and I bet you're a barrel of laughs at BBQs and parties. I can just imagine you... 'None of that processed crap for me please, I've brought our own fillet steaks and juice machine!'. :p
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

If I was desperate for the loo,or with a child who was, I am afraid,I WOULD go in,the member of staff might go flying, but I would go..

So if the child or you were hungry, would you steal something for them to eat?

What do you think is the difference between the two scenarios?

At least they spent their money, unlike the no spend ones.....:)

    But that makes no sense?

I have taken a cross-legged toddler for a McWee before, the fact I wasn't making a purchase on that occasion doesn't suddenly make me a skanky toilet minger!! :rotfl:

Everyone needs to make a No 1, and to make a No 2.

When you have to go, you have to go. Especially with little children.

Dont worry about it, the person probably wont be there next time.

I think this thread has run its course.

By law, no shop should refuse you the use of a toilet (if they have one) and if they do and you wanted to take it further you can.
The law states that pregnant women must have the co-operation of shop owners etc as it can be a health hazard (UTI for example) to hold it!

To be honest I've not had to challenge anyone on this. We were driving home a couple of months ago and had stopped at a petrol station when a woman came in with her daughter and asked to use the loo. The girl behind the desk refused stating it wasn't for public use. Well, wasn't it just my luck that a couple of weeks later we were coming up on the same petrol station when I got that sudden urge (we were half way home and apart from a hotel further down the road there's no shops to stop at). I was barely showing and fully expected to be told where to go but I was immediately ushered behind the security door and shown the facilities.

The same thing happened in a Tesco filling station in Brentwood back in the early days of the pregnancy. I asked a lovely gentleman behind the till if there was a loo I could use. Even with an Irish accent and no bump, he quite happily showed me to the staff toilets. If he'd said no then there were some policemen who had just come in so I was tempted to test the aul "pee in a policemans helmet" law whilst in a different country!!! :rotfl:
