I've just arrived here by googling the Ross on Wye address. Recently I've had 2 of these things but as the address was mine but the name was someone I'd never heard of, I put them back into the postbox "Not known at this address" - I'm wary of these because some frauds etc can involve giving another address and they do look quite "official" from the outside. I'd obviously needn't have bothered. I'm the only one who've lived here for about 17 years. As well as giving the same "personal" number to everyone , they can't even get the name right. Their database must be up the creek.0

They are at it again. Just received another "reminder" but they appear to be using a new award code!! And the closing date has changed to 31st March 2011. I too worked out how much it would cost me to "collect" but now none of the prizes being offered appear that low. Has anyone received any prize from this shower?0

I'm afraid it's a scam whatever your letters and numbers are. For all we know they may have been reading this thread and thought they'd better change the code to catch new victims.
Hi, Iv just received my second one of these, the first one i completely ignored and this time i thought id just see what the crack was so googled it....and this is what i found. I now realise I was right in throwing it away.
Just to let you know I think you may be right in saying they have cottened on to us all knowing it is a scam and have changed the award code, Mine says, 572431
Also The address on the Top says : PO Box 63, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire HR9 9WX
then on the bottom it says 29, Ross-on-Wye, HR9 9WZ
And THEN on the other side it says Green Heys, Walford Road, Ross-on-Wye, HR9 5DB
My letter says i will find out my prize once i send a stamped self-addressed envelope AND 2 loose 1st class stamps..
They also have a website mcintyreanddodd.com which is 'unsuprisingly' CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE :L
So glad i googled it firstThanks Guys x

I recieved exactly the same letters stating that i had a unclaimed prize, i also threw the first one in the bin and when i recieved a second i also googled it, but what i found shocked me, the company had recently been sued for £250k in damages for false advertising, so they are won to watch out for!!0 -
Thanks so much guys! I got my "last reminder" for my prize, so i called up with my number 572431 and i won a country cottage break! I filled in the form and thankfully don't have an envelope to hand, so decided to google this thing just in case. Good thing i did!!! I can't believe they do this to people! Not to mention the amount of paper they're wasting! I have no idea how they got my details.
Oh well, false hopes but i'm glad i got warned before sending off the stamps etc. Thanks agaihn everyone!! :T0 -
O.F.T Update
Investigation into prize draw promoters Purely Creative Limited, Strike Lucky Games Limited, McIntyre & Dodd Marketing Limited and The Winners Club Limited.
Case reference number: CRE-E/16752
Start date: April 2008
Next milestone: The High Court hearing of the proceedings which will commence during the week of 11 January 2011
To add insult to injury my wife received a letter from them today. Digital Camera is gone replaced by "a Laptop Computer".0 -
I have also received these letters but thought I would send 2 stamped addressed envelopes to receive my WINNERS code which was cheaper than ringing at the extreme costs to receive one of the big prizes ranging from £25,000 to a Country Cottage break. I received the code two months later which was a couple of weeks past the CLOSING DATE so did not send off the paperwork, so would now not be receiving my Digital Camera which wasn't the prize on my first letter. I have now received a reminder from the so called manager responsible to ensure people receive their prizes which has now changed again from the Digital Camera to £25,000 to a Laptop Computer and no mention of the said Digital Camera. I will send off my winners code and keep you up-to-date with my prize; I'm so excited NOT! I did send one of these off a few years ago and was waiting on my Cash prize which was worth it's weight in gold and funny enough I received a pretend gold leaf in the post :-), hence to say I still have to get up on a Monday morning to go to work!0

Just got one, this time thanking me for completing an online survey.
Code 603498
Beware.0 -
Ive received my letter today offering £25000 cash £10000 car or cash value plus numerous other prizes.
I am disgusted that this company can prey on people.
My question is where did they get my name? is anything safe??? They addressed me as a Ms in my letter, I only use this title for my bank and credit cards.
My code number is 603498 the same number as several other people.I've got till the 30th April to reply. I must admit this is the 1st letter Ive opened/received as most of the junk mail goes straight in the shredder but this comes in a official looking envelope.
The sooner the OFT deal with this company the better!!0 -
Unclaimed Prize Rollout p.o.Box 107 Ross-on-wye these people have been scamming us for years and just change their name and p.o.box number, i contacted the so called Director of the company last year after speaking with him he said that all prizes were worth at least the value of the call/text so i thought i'd give it a shot.
As many have already said you receie a plastic camera mass produced in China worth about a Quid if that, it's wrong how this company is getting away with this.
Martin i'd like to come along with a camera crew and show this man the camera and ask him how he justified his comments saying the prize was worth at least the call/text.
He should be named shamed and shown on national Tv , my bet is that he lives in some big flashy house and spends 6 months out of the country, our Government allows these companies to continue scamming us every day of the week & if i get another email from Nigeria i'll go over there looking for the culprits myself. :money:
