Same problem with the old tyres? Did you SEE them doing the tracking? Sounds like you got charged for work not carried out.

As as been pointed out, the steering is set with too much "toe in", and the inner eges of the tyres are dragging along behind the outers.
Look at it like this: If the vehicle is being pushed (driven) along the road, the road pushes back. This pushes the wheels back slightly on the suspension, so they "toe OUT" a bit. Setting the wheels with a little "toe in", means the 'push back' will then push them into being straight ahead, with minimal wear taking place. The car model determines how much 'toe in' is required, to compensate for the suspension.

Down to the wire?.... That's bad..... Don't you ever glance at the tyres in passing?

I was once booked in at a place in Tupton that you might know Bri, the one on the A61 and after half a dozen technicians ignored me for 5 minutes, I came home without having it done as they couldn't(be bothered to) convert the metric settings I wanted into the imperial settings their machine was in.I pointed out its not rocket science and even offered to convert it for them but they couldn't be ar**d.

That must be Wan!erworth tears then,:D???

One bloke knows the others don't.

To be honest I've used them for tyres I've sourced when I had a track car.

I asked who was doing the job, talked to the bloke, and said there was a drink in it if he didn't screw my alloys. Allways worked for me but I do know where you're coming from. + there is another outfit in mansfield and 1 at Shirebrook that have them beat on price and service;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

I had to do the geometry on a Lexus.
I never heard of it before and thought it was just the tracking.
A bit of googling about inner tyre wear on this model saved a load of cash eventually.

The main problem for me was finding someone close ..But once done there was a dramatic difference to the way the car handled as well as solving the problem of uneven tyre wear.

You sure that's not toe out wearing the inner edge?

Perhaps it's age, but I seem to recall it was the trailing edge that took the punishment.

I'm pretty sure you will find it's the opposite way round. In effect the trailing edge doesn't wear as much as it deflects rather than scrubs. ;)
