Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 9th March. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread.
Morning all,
The site seems really slow today, dont know if its me, but its taken ages to post this.
Off to work today, so will have a quick swish and swipe before I go, and will do a wash tonight.
Dinner will involve some leftover cold pork, and noodles, so some kind of stir fry.
Rubbish and recycling are out, need to put dw on before I go to work. My new phone came yesterday :TI love it, spent most of last night playing with it trying to work it out
We also picked up the new cabinet thing for the lounge, got it on Ebay, but it was just up the road from us its lovely, will take some photos soon for fb.
Ok better get on, have good days all xx

Morning RR & all who cross/follow
Hubby's been dropped at the station, fish fed, packups made breakfast eaten & washing hung on the line.
I'm off to work, providing I can negotiate the chicane along my road made up of hole dug by workmen and abandoned, road signs warning of said hole & crammed parking spaces.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning HH,RR & all who follow.
Have been up since sparrow f@rt o'clock with DD who was unwell, so have loaded dw & wm put 2 loads of washing on line, descaled the kettle, portioned up & frozen the bolognese sauce made last night & strained the chicken stock that was in the slowcooker overnight. DP had an agency shift starting at 5 this morning & seemed a bit bemused to find me up & about
DS is up & getting ready for school so I'm going back to bed with a cuppa & a good book.
Hope you all have a good day OS or otherwise,
Hugs, spoons, hi5's as required x

Seems very quiet on here at the mo?
Not so cold this morning, hopefully will see some sun again today.
Nothing exciting happening here, have given myself a small office to do list today & a larger housework one. So hope to be out of the office nice and early.
Should be picking my car up this afternoon, with lovely new brakes & a large bill
Very easy sausage and mash for dinner.

Morning all
Dry, bright but chilly here this morning. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. Got up at 5.30am, warmed up and went for jog, first time leg hasn't ached so am now hoping I can start to build the time/intensity back up again. Almost did all of the "week 3 - 2nd run schedule" today, feeling very pleased with myself. Will try to do all of the schedule on Friday morning. then start week 4 next week.
Dinner last night was pancakes/scrambled egg on toast for boys, DS1 then had Cadets. I had jacket sweet potato, fish and green beans, followed by banana, diet yogurt and a few sultanas sprinkled over the top.
Just have to work until lunchtime, on a training course for most of this morning then finished for the week until Monday, but quite a bit to do, we're hoping to finish the decorating!? Have got a big line of washing dry outside Monday and yesterday and will be putting some more out today, so now have an ironing mountain! Remembered to get the chicken out of the freezer, so will be doing something with that for dinner, not sure what. Menu plan didn't get as far as Thursday and Friday so need to organise meals for those days too. Made HM bread last night, both boys decided they would take some for pack-ups today and have eaten some for breakfast - hence not much left, but how lovely to be able to offer them something HM, fresh that's not full of goodness knows what preservatives!
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Good morning everyone,
Couldn't find the thread at 6:30 and don't know how to start it. Found it now though.
No paid work today. Visitors still here and will be eating with us, so DD1 and family will join us. Dinner will be mozarella stuffed chicken breasts with red pepper sauce for 6 grown ups and parmesan crusted chicken breast for 5 children. I'll stuff the chicken breasts this morning and wrap them in parma ham and then leave them in the fridge till this afternoon. I will also get the sauce ready. DH will prepare the children's chicken just before we start cooking. My meal plan was for using meals from the freezer, which works well when it is only the two of us eating. However, it doesn't work so well when there are 11 of us eating.
Have lots of left overs in the fridge, so I'll make up some soup with them and add all the unused veg that is starting to look as wrinkly as me;) That can then be snacked during the day with hm bread as and when the comings and goings allow.
Lovely bright and warm here on Berkshire/ Surrey borders. Looks like a good drying morning so mustn't waste it.
Nmlc I'm glad your leg is getting stronger. I am in awe of your determination:)
Hugs to all who want or need them,

Morning all - very bright and cold here but a lovely early spring day is promised.
Yesterday I went AWOL for a couple of hours and visited the local Roman Fort on the banks of the Tyne. I really enjoyed it too... :j It wasn't cheap as I bought a lot of stuff in the museum shop for presents but it was great to get out of the 'office' and walk in the sunshine.
Sent my mother her birthday present yesterday too, and ordered some flowers for her only to find an email from her about a friend sending her some. Luckily she's got enough vases to open a vase shop!
Today is starting well, bacon and eggs almost ready. Am buoyed up by the lovely sunshine and will go out for a walk. Not working today so will make the most of it.
Eating, showering, walking and enjoying myself on today's agenda so off I go!
Hope everyone has a great Wednesday.0 -
Morning all!
Had a great day out yesterday, met my friend - who incidentally I originally met thru MSE, perused the shops, had lunch, then tea and cake later and a jolly time!
Today I'm off to meet a friend for lunch (how come my social life squeezes itself into one week, then the rest of the month I'm doing nothing?!), and pick up my sander, then I can finish filling assorted holes in the walls prior to a spot of painting and touching up!
OS stuff today will involve filling and turning on the DW, WM, BM and yoghurt! ds is off college today, so will get him to hoover round for me, and I'll give the kitchen a S&S whilst I sort out something for dinner - meal plan still not sorted, so not quite sure what I'm feeding the troops yet, I'm working till 9pm tonight so need to come up with something lol! Could well be baked potatoes, as quick and easy and ds can bung in before the girls get home, they can then all choose their own toppings, plenty of curry or pork and choritzo stew leftover, or the usual cheese, beans, tuna etc!
Time for a catch up now, hope all have a good day xx
ps picked up a free mag from outside Robert Dyas yesterday, all about growing your own, written in conjunction with Gardeners' World, plenty of basic tips for novice gardeners like me! Also contains some vouchers and recipes. Also picked up some raspberry and redcurrant bushes in Poundland - our local one had run out, so looks like they're still around if anyone needs any.GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Morning my lovelies

A very quick on from me. Sun is out but lots of grey cloud
Off to Forest School this morning so what's the betting it rains <rollseyes>
Made £87 on ebay yesterday so this afternoon will be spent parceling up various bits and pieces. Would have hoped to make more (especially when some of the stuff was quite expensive - baby swing etc), had lots of watchers on these items but only one person bidding
Oh well it's better than a kick in the teeth........
Tea tonight is a makeshift as I have tap class.
Try and catch up later. Have a great day OS or not.
Hugs, spoons and high fives all round.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife
