What would you do with £17 Million?

I just caught a snippet on the tv. A massive triple rollover, tomorrow. £17 million. I won't be winning it as i have'nt bought a lottery ticket in yonks :rotfl::rotfl: But it set me off musing. What would all you debt free wanabee's do, with £17 million?
OK, i'll start :-
Surprisingly, very little, ( in my eyes )
1) Pay all my bills up to date, ( i class them as debts )
2) Go to the supermarket
3) This is where i start getting ' biggies' . Okay, so most people would go and buy the car of their dreams, but since i'm pretty much happy with my car, i'd keep it, but know i had enough money for repairs / petrol.
4) Buy or more probably rent a house at the seaside. In fact i'd have so much money, i could afford to rent, so why bother buying?
5) Have an endless supply of money for travelling. Not 1st class travel or 1st class hotels, but i could backpack wherever i wanted around the world.
which leads me on to no :-
6) I could help with any charity work i wanted, anywhere in the world, both financially, physically and mentally
7) and lastly, i'm not sure about this one, because this in my eyes its pretentious, but as i'm a great lover of the sea and yachting, maybe i should buy my own yacht. Nothing pretentious like a millionaires super boat, just a small 30 ft yacht, preferably the one owned by Griff Rhys J**** :rotfl::rotfl: drool, drool
Ah well, in my dreams

i would buy my mum and dad a new kitchen, a jaguar (2 things they have always wanted but would not be able to afford otherwise)
id take 40 of my friends and family on holiday to florida for 2 weeks, give away 5 million between them,
take my daughter on a 6 month trek around the world then buy a nightclub when i came back0 -
- Get out the calculator and work out how much to keep aside to keep me comfortable.
- Treat my family if they'll let me (this could be paying off their mortgage, getting a new car or just saving some money towards their kid's future).
- Buy myself a project (there is currently a house for sale in my area that I see from time to time, it's almost falling apart but if I had the money, I would buy it and have a go at doing it up)
And then I would try to forget about the rest. Easier said than done and I doubt I would do it for real, but I enjoy my job and working for what I have. The peace of mind of knowing I'd have enough to retire if that ever changed would be enough to keep me going.Thank you competition posters!

I wouldn't want £17 million... only thing I *dream* of is having enough money to be able to buy our house outright, and not go through the next few months sorting out a very complicated mortgage (which i'm dreading) and enough to pay for my mum, dad and grandparents to go to Australia to see family over there. Here to offer help and advice, and maybe take a little in return.
Whilst I am happy to share my knowledge, I am in no way a professional... I can not therefore accept responsibility for inaccurate info, I ask that you take professional advice rather than rely totally the info provided by myself :beer:0 -

Id be happy even with a nice 50k deposit0 -
Its too much money imo. I'd be happy with a half million.
Buy a house, pay my debts and buy a few nice gifts for people then invest a load.
I think you would probably lose the plot with that amount unless it was self made.
Had to laugh last night, there was a syndicate from a meat processing factory who won over a million each, modest wages and hard mucky wor, most were about 60 so said they would take early retirement but the bloke in his mids 40's said he would continue to work incase something went wrong. Can just imagine him being the sort of person that will probably pay for his council flat and work till hes 65 while not touching the money.0 -
