  • glad this thread has been resurrected, this thread encouraged me to have a smear done. unfortunatly my results were abnormal, and i had to go back in three months, well on saturday i got the letter saying my three months were up, so its time for me to book an appointment too

    I booked to see the emergency practitioner back along for a sore throat type issue and the first thing she said to me when I walked through the door was that I was 18 months overdue for my smear test and her parting words were book that smear test. I did and actually despite the embarrassment and the discomfort, it wasn't as bad as I had worked myself up it would be. I don't relish the next time that letter drops through my door reminding me I am due again but its worth it.
