Ladies - how fussy are you when it comes to getting a smear done?

I don't like them but when compared to a dentist, give me a smear test!
Though saying that, I went for one at the start of the year and I didn't want to play ball; deep breathing and thinking of happy things didn't work! My next appointment, everything went to plan, however I've got to have another smeer test later on this year as I've got abnormal cells. Here's hoping I want to play ball, so to speak at this one!:cool:0 -
I think I would rather go to the dentist and I really hate going to the dentist!
I am not in the age range yet - fortunately!0 -

I've been called for a test but as I've never been sexually activeI don't think I need to go?!
Also, sorry if this is TMI and OT but I'm incredibly self concious about my ummm nether regions (hence me being this old and you know). I feel like it looks abnormal
Anyone else feel like this?? I'm even too embarrassed by it to have a bikini wax!!
weve got a few nurses in our families, and they all say the same thing.
once youve seen and handled willys and fannys all day, every day, another one is neither here nor there.
they really dont care. its just another part of the human body.
could be worse, they could be the colon dept nurses.Get some gorm.0 -

lol same here on the first point :rotfl:0 -
I've haven't had my first one yet. I know that doctors are more than used to fannies being thrust in their face left, right and centre, but I still feel funny about it. I think it's the undignified legs akimbo stance one has to take for the examination!"You dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows"0

I'd rather have a few moments of discomfort than an early rap on the door by the grim reaper......The shinbone is a device for finding furniture in a dark room.:TBig thanks to all competition posters:T0

I don't know what the age is now?
I have a sinking feeling that it is my next birthday. :eek:0 -
I have had one every year since an abnormal smear (and then a coloposcomy(sp?)) in 1997 - the only years I didnt have one was when I was pregnant with DD in 1999 and DS in 2002 - I am pretty sure that I am not supposed to have one every year still, but I aren't going to say that - let them do it!
(not that I like having it done, I just don't want the consequences of not having it done!)0 -
