Ladies - how fussy are you when it comes to getting a smear done?

It is a post for those who have had experience of the PAP test though....but you choose to troll yourself further and try to create a Tink topic whenever possible.
Moving on.
Frankly after four children, there can't be many members of the medical profession who haven't had a quick glimpse up my flange, so a few minutes of embarrassment for a potentially life saving procedure is not too much hardship. I would not list it in my top ten of fun things to do, but it is a necessary brief inconvenience.I don't know much, but I know I love you ....<30 -
actually the questions 'Who do you prefer to do the test? Do you care?' could be answered by people who havnt had one, especially the first question0

I can't remember when my last one was. How long is it since Jade Goody died, because I think it was about 6-8 months after that. I didn't want to go at the time when she died, because it seemed like jumping on the bandwagon
TBH after having kids, you have no dignity left, so it doesn't bother me who does it.Moving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0 -

Actually, I think if you read the OP (all of it!) the questions are:-
"Who do you prefer to do the test!" - translated for you....who do you want to have a hoke around your cookie! In your case it doesn't apply (read the whole OP)
"Do you care" - translated for you - do you give a flying fig if the qualified person is old/young/squinty/ugly/beautiful. In your case it doesn't apply (read the whole OP)
Me personally, I don't care (the squinty could be nail biting though - waiting for the instrument hitting the jackpot:rotfl:)
In your case neither apply cause you are never getting one done - *************yawn******************The shinbone is a device for finding furniture in a dark room.:TBig thanks to all competition posters:T0 -
After the amount of strip searches I've had in the past, flashing my gash at a nurse doesn't bother me loljust passing through.... Nothing to see....0

and no i do not need the lecture, its my choice
I couldn't even be bothered to give you the lecture.
I did to the OP (aliasojo) as she clearly wanted to be convinced that she really ought to have it done.
You? I don't give a flying fig whether you have one or not - ever.0 -

Yes that's true. I knew I needed to but I did seem to have rather a large emotional hurdle to get over first for some reason. Foolish I know, but there you go, I have weaknesses.:D
Anyway, for whoever asked, yes I went and I've just had the 'all clear' letter in. Took weeks for the results to come through.
I'm sad to see this has been moved to the Arms. I think there's a lot of women who feel the same way as I did and the thread was a good example of the encouragement sometimes needed, and helpfully given.
It's now just going to degenerate. Shame.Herman - MP for all!0 -

I've been called for a test but as I've never been sexually activeI don't think I need to go?!
Also, sorry if this is TMI and OT but I'm incredibly self concious about my ummm nether regions (hence me being this old and you know). I feel like it looks abnormal
Anyone else feel like this?? I'm even too embarrassed by it to have a bikini wax!!
Lots of women feel they've got funny looking bits - that's just because fannies are funny looking. Please don't let that be the reason you don't go. A nurse couldn't care less what your bits look like trust me - it's just a job, they're not judging you in a Prettiest Vagina competition.
Re. not being sexually active, the chances of you having a problem are very small indeed, but the NHS still advises smear tests for all women (dependent on age).
It really does take seconds then you just get on with you life. Go."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

I beg to differ. My last (only) one hurt like hell. Sorry if that's an unpopular thing to say but I don't know why we women insist on lying to each other. (I'm not bothered about the stranger-looking-up-my-bits part either, having had two very complicated pregnancies, I think half the hospital staff have had a look).
ETA: I do however think people should have them and am actually about to have another myself. Painkillers before I go this time! And no I'm not a wimp about pain normally in case anyone was wondering (* cough * martial arts titles * cough *)They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
Nurses have seen lots and lots of different women, all shapes and sizes, all levels of hairy or bald - they're not interested in how you look, they just want to get the job done! It's not particularly comfortable but it's part of being a woman and taking responsibility for your health.“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”
