I dont agree with it being 25, I think they should lower the age. Wasnt Jade Goody 25 when she got cancer?

I had my first one at 17.

ive never had one and never will

and no i do not need the lecture, its my choice
I haven't had one done and, quite frankly, I would really rather not!

Bah - rather not/prefer not to is not a good enough excuse
I don't know what the age is now?

I have a sinking feeling that it is my next birthday.

25... too old in my opinion

Well ladies, my doctor has a great thing for getting you to have your smear.... she is called Nurse Bailie and is the wonderful nurse we have. When it your time to visit she will ring you and a week later she will ring again to make the appointment and this will continue for a couple of weeks and you then go in to the next list which is a call every couple of days and then its your number on speeddail until you give in and make the appointment and she has been known to nab you if you call in to the surgery and the excues of 'i'm just home from work' or 'i need a shower' dosen't work!!!! so it is much easier to make the appointment and keep it the first time she rings... but at the end of the day she is only looking after us :j

I'm 25 next - there is only one female doctor where I go and she is scary!

There must be a reason for that age though?

i would seriously change my doc if they did that at my surgery

i used to get grief when i went in at my old surgery so i changed (not just for that reason but it was one of them)

So why bother posting that on a thread about having a smear? You've said it before, you've had the "lecture" before and aren't going to change your mind, so why post?

I KNOW you can post where you want. I just wonder why you post about having a smear when you've never had one and don't intend to, that's all.

On topic - I used to be fussy to the point where I put it off and put it off, until I got a dodgy result back and had to have a repeat. It scared me half to death, so I stopped being fussy. Even more so when last time I went the nurse came out for me and she was an ex-colleague!
