You think so?
C'mon OP - let's have an update on your Santander adventure!
Ok here it goes,
I spoke to the customer services team tonight. And the chap I spoke to said it's been declined and I should here something in the next few days. Will it be by writing or e-mail? A bit strange this because when I called up yesterday the customer services team said it's been passed to the underwriters. I have checked my equifax and nothing showing no credit search nothing yet. I'm not dissapointed at all if I defo don't get it. I have recently opened an isa with them and I wanted to transfer some funds to a different account not with santander and they could'nt do it over the phone nor online I have to call back tomorrow? In my opinion thats way behind the times very poor and can take up to 4 working days. I'm
so glad the account isn't likely to be opened I may close my isa with them too!!!!:)It takes two to tango!:rotfl:0 -
I applied online for the switch & have experienced no problems whatsoever; my DDs were successfully switched, the £100 incentive payment was made quickly & I've not experienced anything adverse. 5% interest is really nice too, basically £100pa if you keep to the £2,500 limit.0

New Update!!!!
Hello all, I recieved a letter from Santander and the account has been declined!!!!!
I'm actually pleased with that. After speaking to them quite a bit and understanding there system of doing things I can see why they are so poor. I recently opened an isa with them I'm closing it as they are so poor and way behind the times. I really didn't think santander could be as bad as everyone made out but they really are. Stay away from them on all products. It takes two to tango!:rotfl:0 -
For the hoops you have to jump through it really isn't worth it.Debt at worst: £33000 (Feb 2011). Present debt: £25610 (Apr 2012)
Lloyds old (22.4%) = 560 (Dec 2012)0 -
I opened a Santander Zero account, and was told the £100 offer has been withdrawn, but all other aspects are still there.Good morning all,
Been thinking for weeks about applying for the Santander £100 switch and 5% interest. I know they are currently the worst bank for customer service in recent polls, But I did see they have improved a little. They obviously have one of the best rates on the market for switching incentives and interest. Has anyone had any experiences of successful switching and are happy with Santander? I recently opened a Flexible isa with them @ rate of 3.15% of which is decent and have had no problems in opening the account and registration. I also thought there online banking is ok it's not the best by far but it's ok. I would really appriciate your comments and opinions and experiences.:)0 -

Run away, save yourselves!
I tried to switch away from my A&L premier account (santander by another name still smells of ....), I let them know what was happening and that I wanted to downgrade the account to avoid any underfunding fees whilst we were getting back on our feet then I would clear the small overdraft on that account - was well within my limit. Followed their instructions of writing to a particular address. Get a letter saying you owe us lots and lots of money, they hadn't downgraded the account, had been piling on fees upon fees and didn't let me know by post at all (Yes I should have checked online but i'd done everything they'd instructed me to do and thought the account was static). Rang them up and they were no help at all, refused to reduce the fees, no answer as to why they hadn't downgraded the account, i've had different answers from everyone i've spoken to over whether I should have gone into a branch (it's an online account!), phoned up etc. They deleted the secure messages with all the correspondance on about it. I complained and got a standard fob off reply, as if the person dealing with it had seen fees in the letter and just printed out the standard we will not give you your fees back letter, when my complaint was about the mishandling of my account. Gave up and agreed to pay x amount back a month to stop more fees being accrued and a monthly reducing overdraft. Simplez? No, I get constant letters saying you've gone over the overdraft, you must pay back everything you owe now, and all I do with this account is put money in monthly on the day they told me to by standing order, they cause all the problems by being complete idiots, they trebeled the amount I owed on that account and will not listen to reason at all.
