Shall I dare go to Santander?

odd as mine opened instantly :S
To be fair I think mine opened instantly too, but I was an existing customer.
On Wednesday this week I closed an old Santander current account in branch and then early Thursday morning I applied online for a new Preferred in Credit Current Account. Within an hour my new acount was set up and active within my online banking; this was just after 7am in the morning! I checked my account this morning and my bill payments and one standing order have already been set up, just waiting for the two direct debits to move over.
I phoned last night to open a Loyalty Flexible ISA for the new tax year, again the account was opened immediately and visible through online banking; I just need to wait for the 6th April to credit my £5340.
I really can't complain about them at the moment.0 -
I have to give some credit to Santander, I opened their esaver and it was done within 2 days, plus they processed my direct debit request to my current account with First Direct within days. Everything is operating normally!
Still would not have a current account with them though :-)0 -

Are you an exsisting customer?
I have only had one email since applying, saying I would receive account details and online banking details within 10 days. Still not received anything and have contacted them just to be told they would send them out again and again nothing came so I have just given up now.Full Time Student

They're awful... they give attractive rates because every other part of the buisness is crap! do yourself a favour... and go with a bank whos half decent!0

I have to say that I've been a customer of Santander for about 10 years now and have multiple accounts with them (current account, joint saver account, and Zero credit card) and I've not had a single problem with them in that entire time (touch wood!).
Whenever I've had to get in touch with them via either branch or telephone they've always been really good and have sorted things out straight away and I think they're online banking system is really good too.
Comparing Santander with some of the banks that other members of my family are at, Santander is much better in my opinion.0
