i don't know some people like to have a new car every other year, others prefer drink and drugs, big tvs/gadgets

I like my holidays.. when i see a posh audi or bmw driving by i always think company car, when i see a 40 year old in a ferrari or porsche i always think small c0ck and why the f*** are you driving that in the UK

When I see a posh Audi or BMW I always think that we could probably drive something like that if we didn't spend so much of our hard earned dosh on holidays.

When our kids are older and look back at their childhood I know that the holidays they've had will have given the more pleasure and made better memories than the car that sat on the drive.

two's the most you'll ever need aslong as there good and you don't drink too much

I don't think anyone needs to go on holiday at all; want and need are two different things entirely.

I would much prefer an experience over something material. When I was 25 years old I loved going abroad. My friends never wanted to come with me to the places I wanted to go, so I went alone. In a positive way this added to the personal experience.

Going abroad alone is something I recommend others to do and is worth a try. I made friends in the countries I visited during the 4 years of going abroad. One of my work colleagues is going abroad to Italy by himself and I am very sure he will gain from the experience.

I am going to be 32 next month and now I only fly to Portugal. In some ways it is a holiday, but in other ways it is not. I am lucky to only incur the cost of an Easyjet flight, as my partner lives there and Portuguese is her first language. If it was not for her, I don't think I'd be going abroad or spending that money on luxuries (would prefer to merge it somewhere into my savings budget instead). I aim to fly to Portugal every other month for at least 3-4 days each time.

We always have a minimum of 2 trips abroad, often 3. Plus a couple of UK weekends away usually get worked in there somewhere :)

Each year we usually have at least one luxury long haul and/or unusual destination e.g. Lapland, Mexico, Vegas. Still got lots of places on my wishlist.

It works out well, as usually by the time we return from one holiday, we have either just booked, or looking into booking, the next one. So we always have a nice break to look forward to ;)

It varies... Somewhere abroad at least once a year though :)
This year: (all with the bf unless stated)
York for 2 nights at the end of June
London or Yorkshire theme parks (Lightwater and Flamingoland or Thorpe and Chessington) for a night or 2 in the middle of July
Bloodstock festival in August (yes I am counting this as a holiday! :p)
Germany for a week in the middle of September for Europa park/black forest region in general
I have a few days leave booked in November too for me and mum to go away somewhere in the UK for a few nights (would be abroad but she had a major ankle op and will still be recovering) Open to ideas on where exactly to go ;)
I'm a bit of theme park nut (this list doesn't include day trips to other parks) and am trying to focus on the UK parks this year as I have a few other things to save for!

    .

I'm the same, you can lose material things so easily, but you can't lose experiences (unless you end up with amniesio however you spell it).

I too love my holidays and much prefer to spend my money on experiencing new things than having new things.

We try to go away for a long weekend once every couple of months - that could be a European city or a camping weekend. Then try to have at least 1 chillaxing holiday for 1 week. Or we cut back on weekends away and save and go on a big adventure long haul holiday.
