How many holidays do you go on a year?

Just out of curiosity how many holidays do people 'usually' go on a year? Short haul and long haul?

  • I've only really just started travelling by myself as I'm 21 and a student and don't have a lot of money. Last year I went to Glasgow twice, England, San Diego (paid for my 21st yay!), and Paris. I live in NI so Glasgow and England are 'holidays' to me :D

Last year I went to Amsterdam, Germany, Austria, & Italy :D They were only cheap-ish coach trips as I didn't feel 100% to fly. The only reason that I did so much travelling was because I was being treated for cancer the year before & I was too ill to travel. Usually it's only the one long-haul flight for me.

Well in 2010 I went to:

    - New Zealand - tail end of 4 week trip coincided with the new year, so only really spent 5 days there in 2010
    - Dubai - 2 day stopover on way home from NZ (included with flight price)
    - Italy - 5 days holiday
    - Northern Ireland - 5 day holiday
    - Canada - one week holiday
    - about 10 weekend UK trips too - London, Birmingham, Bristol, Cornwall etc

    This year

    - I'm taking a 4 week holiday in Oct/Nov to go to Hong Kong, Oz, NZ and Singapore :)
    - I have been to Birmingham on a weekend trip already, and am going there again at Easter
    - 2 trips to London are booked for summer time too

I also go away with work too. 3 x per year to Brecon for 4 nights, and I'm off to London for 3 nights later this month.

    In 2012:

    - 2 weeks to Bahamas in March for a wedding
    - 1 week in Mexico for another wedding!

So, in answer to your question, lots!!

Well I recently stopped being a skint student and got a proper job with a decent holiday allowance so I'm hoping to go fairly often. Got a weekend in Edinburgh planned next month and a week in Berlin in July/August booked already. Hoping to add another wee city break to that at some point too. :)
